On behalf of the family of the late Bro Peter Ogg PM No 11. I would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported us during our recent bereavement.

We are especially grateful to the Brethren of Lodge St John No.11 and to the many Brethren and Lodges throughout the Province who sent cards, messages of sympathy, kind words and offers of support. Your thoughtfulness and friendship have been a great comfort to us at this difficult time.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to Bro. Robert Green for his fitting and moving eulogy, and to Bro. Robert Simpson for his graveside reading. We are grateful to all who attended the service and assisted at both the church and the graveside.

The respect, kindness and support shown to our dad and our family were deeply appreciated. You all did him proud and we take great comfort in seeing the esteem in which he was held.

Thank you all for your friendship, compassion and support.

The family of Bro. Peter Ogg .

Brethren it is with a very heavy heart that I let you know that PM Bro Peter Ogg HGT sadly passed to the Grand Lodge above in the early hours of this morning. PM Ogg was one of the best known Freemasons throughout the province and the epitome of all that is good about our order. His labours were recognised by his mother Lodge where he was awarded distinguished membership, by Lodges Girvan St John No.237, Lodge Royal Arch No.198, Lodge Fergusson StJames No.566, Lodge Wallace St Hugh No.1212, and Lodge Coila St Andrew No.1334 all of whom awarded him Honorary membership and in 2011 he received Honorary Grand Rank of Tyler from the Grand Lodge of Scotland. He was a dedicated Royal Arch Mason, a Knight of the Conclave and many other appended orders. Peter loved the craft and in his latter years his love for freemasonry never diminished attending his last meeting at Dailly on the 16th April at the age of 96. He will be sadly missed by his family, his friends, his brethren and all who knew him.

Brethren just to remind all that we will be holding instruction classes every Sunday and all brethren are welcome to attend to try out an office or a lecture or just to watch how we prepare for our ritual. Our next regular meeting will be on the 21st January where we will put our new affiliate through the EA degree which will be conferred by PM Bobby Simson. Both he and the new RWM would welcome your support.

As our 300th year draws to a close I would like to bring warm and seasonal greetings to all from the RWM office bearers and brethren of Lodge StJohn Maybole No.11. It has been a celebratory year in many ways with a tremendous Burns Supper in March, various Masonic events throughout the province and culminating in our 300th anniversary and divine service within the Carrick Centre in October. Freemasonry is an organisation that provides fraternal friendship and brotherly love where likeminded individuals can form lifelong friendships, support and raise monies for local and national charities and promote social inclusion.
At this festive season whether you are a Freemason or not think about your neighbours and give a little time to visit them and say hello, have a cup of coffee or tea with them and let them know you care. Brotherly love and good wishes are for all not just Freemasons. Isolation affects a great number of our communities and we can all play a part in caring and sharing.
So the brethren of lodge St John Maybole No.11 extend the hand of friendship to all within and outwith the town of Maybole and that hand is extended with love and affection whether you know the handshake or not. Merry Christmas.
