Stanley House Hotel & Spa Stanley House Hotel & Spa is now closed while a major redevelopment and refurbishment programme takes place. We are not currently accepting new bookings.

Situated in Mellor (in between Preston and Blackburn), the hotel is privately owned and opened in 2004 following a spectacular conversion of the ruins of a 17th century manor house, titled Stanley House. The Grade II listed building, demonstrating its heritage is now complemented with opulent modern additions and also benefits from unspoiled views of the Ribble Valley countryside. This refreshing fusion of the conventional and contemporary makes Stanley House the number one destination of choice. Stanley House Hotel & Spa boasts an array of resort-standard facilities making it a leading choice for daytime and evening dinners, weddings, leisure and spa breaks, corporate meetings and events and private celebrations.

An exciting new chapter for Stanley House

Stanley House Hotel & Spa is now closed while we undertake a significant multi-million-pound redevelopment and refurbishment programme.

The investment will improve the hotel and its guest facilities, building on the heritage and long-standing reputation of Stanley House across Lancashire and beyond.

We are not currently accepting new bookings for accommodation, spa, restaurant or bar experiences. Guests with bookings affected by the closure are being contacted directly. Our events spaces will close from 31st October 2026.

A reopening date has not yet been confirmed. We will share more information as the redevelopment progresses.

Thank you to everyone who has visited Stanley House and been part of our story so far. We look forward to sharing the next chapter with you.

𝗔𝗻 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 & 𝗦𝗽𝗮

We are preparing for an exciting new chapter, with a significant multi-million-pound investment planned for the hotel.

The redevelopment and refurbishment programme will enhance the hotel and its guest facilities, building on Stanley House’s heritage while investing in its future.

To enable the works to take place, our accommodation, spa, restaurant and bar operations will temporarily close from 30th September 2026.

Our on-site events business, operated by The Glass Marquee, Events by MyLahore, will continue throughout, with weddings, social and corporate events proceeding as planned.

Guests with bookings affected by the temporary closure are being contacted directly.

For future stays in the area, nearby Hampton by Hilton Blackburn is available to book at Hampton.com.

We’ll share more about the redevelopment as plans progress.

Stanley House has been part of so many stays, celebrations and special occasions over the years, and we’d like to thank everyone who has visited and been part of its story so far.
