If you’re looking to go off-grid surrounded by North Yorkshire countryside, here’s a peaceful and scenic site to add to your list.
Green Bank Farm Campsite may be a pop-up with a back-to-basics vibe, but it welcomes kids and dogs, and puts you in pole position for jaunts into the North York Moors National Park (15 minutes’ drive) and spending time at east-coast resorts like Whitby (50 minutes).
In short, there’s plenty to see and do around this site. The well-kept camping field is expansive and sheltered by mature hedges; there are views to the Cleveland Hills wherever you choose to pitch.
The list of amenities is short so you’ll need to come prepared with drinking water and torches for after-dark meanderings.
Handily, the village of Great Broughton (10 minutes’ walk) has a decent selection of pubs and restaurants to keep you fed and watered.
There are more eateries in the small town of Stokesley (five minutes’ drive), where you can also pick up essentials in the small supermarkets.
