🍂 **AUTUMN AT STAY NORTHSIDE**

We love this time of year at the cottage.

The evenings get darker, the trees start changing colour, there’s nothing better than a walk followed by a pub lunch… and then suddenly Christmas is everywhere. 😂🎄

So we’ve been having a look at what’s happening around us and put together **10 things to do within roughly 20 miles of Stay Northside before Christmas.**

🎃 **3 Oct – 1 Nov** — Haunted Forest at Raby Castle

🚂 **3–4 Oct** — Shildon Model Railway Exhibition

🎆 **31 Oct** — Kynren Pyromusical

🏰 **From 14 Nov** — Christmas at Raby Castle

🎄 **15 Nov** — Darlington Christmas Lights Switch-On

✨ **From 20 Nov – 3 Jan** — AGLOW at Auckland Palace

🎅 **21 Nov – 24 Dec** — Christmas at Beamish

🎄 **27–29 Nov** — Raby Castle Christmas Market

🚂 **28–29 Nov** — Locomotion Christmas Market

🎁 **4–6 Dec** — Durham Christmas Festival

And the best bit?

You can go out and explore all day… then come back to a quiet little village, the village green outside, the Bay Horse across the green and the fire on.

**That's our kind of autumn.** 🍂

We've got plenty of availability before Christmas, although Christmas itself is already booked.

👉 **Save this post for later** — because you'll definitely forget the dates otherwise! 😂

And tell us…

**Which one would you pick? 🍂🎄**

23/10/2026

We’ve had a cancellation from 27th October onwards just ready for half term; so we’re dropping our prices to get those dates filled!

Anyone fancy a few nights away? Or know someone looking for somewhere to stay? Please share this if you do?

Our little cottage is lovely this time of year, with the log burner on, the pub just across the village green and everything you need for a proper home away from home.

Whether it’s a little break or a work stay, give us a message. We’d love to get it booked up, so there’ll be a good deal to be had!

Take a look at the new sessions running with our friends over at Elements Sauna. I highly recommend this place - I use the sauna and lake regularly. The hot cold benefits plus regular cold water therapy has been life changing for me!

Give them a follow - best place around 💚💜🩵 Elements Sauna
