Hey! It’s been a minute!! Sorry we’ve been quiet on here, It’s been a manic summer! Thank you to everyone who’s supported us so far, We really appreciate it. It’s the weekend again!! We have plenty of tables available if you’d like some tasty food and great service, our plaice seems to be selling well as well as our new butter chicken curry and basil & mozzarella arancini (pics below)

Saturday night we’ll be showing the england vs norway world cup quarter final (kick off 10pm). We’ll be serving our usual menu up until 8.30pm but also offering sausage & chips at halftime for £5

Also, We’re looking ahead to the skittles season, so if any captains are looking for new alley to use, give us a call (01935822557) or pop in for a chat

VAT's The Problem 📣

The UK currently charges hospitality, including pubs, 20% VAT. Chef Tom Kerridge has started a petition pushing for the permanent reduction of VAT in hospitality to 10% to allow the sector to thrive. The statistics of this figure against other countries within Europe are high:

United Kingdom: 20%
Ireland: 9% to 13.5%
France: 10%
Spain: 10%
Italy: 10%
Germany: 7%

Supporting this industry-wide petition is a simple way for us to support our local pubs and contribute to keeping them open. Signatures have already exceeded 240,000 and this figure keeps increasing. Pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels and more employ thousands of people around the country and they need the public’s help to provide a strong future in UK hospitality.

UPDATE, Same as yesterday we’ll be shutting the pub this afternoon until tomorrow morning at 9, For the staff’s well-being we think it’s the right call. We have plenty of tables available over the weekend when it’s a bit cooler if you fancy joining us, we’ve made a couple of changes to the menu too.
