Highland Annexe Quiet and peaceful holiday home on the beautiful Black Isle. We sleep 4 on beds and are very dog friendly! STL Licence: HI-20120F

Do you crave relaxation, clean air, beautiful beaches, stunning forests, towering mountains and friendly locals? Then you need to come and stay with us in our two bedroom holiday let!
We are Maggs and Dan, along with our two girls and small dog, Winston. Welcome to our beautiful home on the Black Isle just north of Inverness in the stunning Highlands of Scotland. We have for holiday rental a self-contained annexe that’s attached to our beautiful family home. The annexe is separated from us by a locked dividing door. You’d have your own entrance (2 entrances, actually) and can be as involved as you want, or don’t want with us. We are on hand to help with enquiries or recommend places to see or eat but will of course leave you completely alone should that be your preference. Dogs are very welcome at Highland Annexe. We have spare bowls, poo bags, blankets and towels for your pouch if you’ve forgotten them. The annexe has 2 double bedrooms (1 double and 1 king). Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes. The main living space is very large, light and airy with double height ceilings and velux windows. We can sleep 4 on beds but we are happy to provide a deluxe self inflating single air bed, towels, bedding etc for an extra child with a small surcharge. The kitchen is bespoke and very high quality. It’s fully stocked with everything non-food you’d need for a stay with us including a dishwasher. Bluetooth speakers are built into the ceiling in the kitchen. We have a separate utility room with a washing machine and outside drying space for clothes. We will provide a welcome basket. Bathroom-wise it’s a wetroom/shower (no bath) but has plenty of space to move around in and is fully tiled. The annexe is a bungalow so inside is step free but there is a step to get in around the back. The front entrance is not wheelchair friendly. The large garden out the front is shared with us. We have our own separate fenced part that we ask guests not to use. There is a grassed section with meshed wooden fencing behind the annexe that will be just for your use.

Strathpeffer is a lovely place to visit and the museum is in the old train station. You can take a walk down tue old tracks right from there. Or of course also go to Rogie Falls as they suggest.

I’m shocked to say I recognise some of the - ahem - newer things in the museum! 😳😩

We've another recommendation for things to do in Strathpeffer... This one is Rogie Falls!
It's a popular nearby site for people who want a more dramatic natural stop than the village’s woodland paths. Fast water, forest paths, a suspension bridge and classic Highland scenery... what's not to love. It'll be particularly beautiful just now with all the autumnal colours! 🍂🍁
If you're looking to make a day-trip out of visiting us, then there are plenty of natural and historic sites that you combine to make a fantastic itinerary. Check out the Walk Highlands website for more details about the trail.

Ok. I need help!

Our garden furniture needs replacing soon….. despite taking it inside over winter it’s starting to flake. Which is really annoying!

However we have no idea which option our guests prefer in the garden! Does anyone use it to eat outside? Or is it more for a glass of something and a book?

I know the stones aren’t ideal so I thought maybe sun loungers would be better then they can be taken to the sunny spot at the top of the lawn for an evening tipple? Or maybe a bistro set for 2 on the decking? Has anyone actually used the table and chairs to eat outside?

Over to our wonderful guests to help us decide!

I do love a bit of market research!

Poll below (I ran out of allowed words in the actual poll post)!

Warm, sunny and breezy. Rain was forecast so I am very happy to be able to get these things hung outside to dry.

We wash our blankets, mattress protectors and pillow protectors at every changeover. I am taking a guess that this is not the norm given how many Airbnbs we have stayed in and the blankets/protecters are absolutely minging! 🤮🤬
