WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK
And that's a wrap on Rocktober '26! MAC/DC brought the festival to a close with two thunderous sets to bookend yesterday's Sunday Session. A huge thank you to all performers, sound engineers, our brilliant team, and, of course, all of YOU who came to see some of the incredible bands that make the Highland music scene so special – and enjoy an ale from fantastic local breweries. This week, a literary treat as Nairn bookclub at the Bandstand has its October meeting on Thursday – come and share your best reads! Party time comes early on Saturday as the incredible Scooty & the Skyhooks come to light up the stage for an afternoon sesh – more details below. And take note – there’s a week’s break from the Sunday Session open mic as the team enjoy a well deserved night out.
SATURDAY SESH with SCOOTY & THE SKYHOOKS – 3-6pm
They’re an institution in the Highland music scene – and having recently celebrated their 40th anniversary with an amazing sellout tour all over the Highlands, the Scootymobile just keeps going and going. Now they bring their hugely popular “Saturday Afternoon Sesh” tour to several carefully selected venues in the North of Scotland. The ten-piece band bring high-energy, high-octane soul, Tamla Motown, Northern soul and ska mixed with some absolute bangers that will bring the dancefloor alive and have any venue bouncing from start to finish. The 3 - 6pm gigs have been an instant success – have a drink, have a boogie - and still have Saturday night left... IF you have any energy left, because you'll be dancing and singing along all afternoon when Scooty and the Skyhooks are playing – that's for sure!
