Autumn is refurbishment season!

We’ve been busy laying new carpets at the hotel, giving it a fresh new look. We’re hoping to get Littlestone Hotel done before Christmas too… fingers crossed!

We moved from Islington, London, to New Romney 26 years ago, and just when we thought it was time to slow down and retire… what did we do? Buy The Captain Howey Hotel! 🤣
And lately Shaftesbury House

Honestly, I’m still not quite sure what we were thinking! 😂,

But here we are, still working, improving our hotels and investing in our community.

Retirement can wait a little longer!

Great news!
William Harvey Hospital’s new Same Day Emergency Care Unit is OPEN!

Faster treatment, shorter waits, less corridor care and more patients safely returning home within 24 hours!

A positive step forward for our NHS and our local community!

Great news for our community!

A community space bringing creativity, crafts, art and people together is coming in the near future!

In the meantime, why not pop into Reloved, Reloved at 5A Littlestone Road, right next to Littlestone Hotel Littlestone Hotel and The Captain Howey Hotel and have a chat With Jess.

They have a fantastic selection of good-quality second-hand children’s clothing, toys and books — a lovely way to find something special while giving pre-loved items a new home.

🚆 Forget the sea view… we’ve got a train station! 😂

This is the view from the Littlestone Hotel — the station is literally right opposite.

And don’t be fooled by the empty Avenue… our CCTV caught that peaceful moment lasting approximately two seconds. 😎

The Avenue has certainly changed over the last couple of decades, with more houses, more traffic, and now a nice Co-op supermarket.

But that’s part of the charm — you’re right in the heart of the local community, with the station just across the road and everything happening around you and a cold drink just next door at The Captain Howey Hotel

Things are changing around here…

According to one of our guests and Rightmove, Costa on New Romney High Street may be closing soon.

If that’s true, I can’t help wondering… would that location be perfect for …

And it seems there could be even more change coming. I’ve also heard that a new fried chicken food outlet, KFC-style, may be opening nearby in the near future.

There are also quite a few shops currently available to rent along New Romney High Street.

What other businesses do you think the High Street needs?
