As Storm Austen rolls in and our Half Term guests arrive, White Birch Manor is feeling extra cosy, with warm fires, soft lighting and a few twinkling lights to welcome everyone in from the wild weather outside ✨🏡

There’s something rather special about a countryside escape when the weather turns wild. Plenty of room for little ones to explore and play hide and seek, shelves full of books to get lost in, games and jigsaws to bring everyone together, and fires to curl up in front of at the end of the day🔥📚🧩

Whatever the weather is doing outside, there’s plenty of fun, comfort and cosy corners to enjoy inside 🥰

It’s a place to switch off, reconnect and make memories together, whatever the weather. So, here’s to a wonderful Half Term at the Manor ❤️

❤️ A Meal for Two ❤️

Every now and then, we love doing something a little different, and helping make a special occasion extra memorable was a real pleasure 👨‍🍳

We were asked to help create something special for an intimate birthday celebration - a meal to be made with love for someone’s other half ❤️

We took care of all the preparation, leaving just the finishing touches to be done at home, so all that was left was to pop the main course in the oven and enjoy a restaurant-quality meal in the comfort of their own home 👨‍🍳✨

And what a result! 😍

✨ THE MENU ✨

🧀 Charcuterie Sharing Board
A selection of cured meats, continental cheeses, dips and flatbreads.

🥩 The Main Event
Fillet of Beef Wellington
Potato Pavé
Tenderstem Broccoli & Carrot Noodles
Rich Forestière Sauce

🍰 Assiette of Desserts
A trio of indulgent treats… plus a little extra sweetness!

🍋 Lemon Meringue Tartlet
🍮 Salted Caramel Torte with Toffee Popcorn
💚 Pistachio Crème Brûlée with Orange Shortbread
🍫 Black Forest Profiteroles

A little effort, a lot of love, and a truly special meal made to be enjoyed together ✨

Happy Birthday! 🥳

Early mornings down by the river…

We know leaving the comfort of your cosy bed at sunrise isn’t everyone’s idea of a holiday (and who could blame you?!) But if you do fancy an early start, there’s a little slice of magic waiting just down the lane ✨

A breathtaking sunrise, golden light dancing across the water, and that wonderful feeling of having discovered somewhere truly special 🧡

Sometimes the most beautiful moments are just a few steps away… 💛

We don’t tell too many people - we prefer to keep this little corner of paradise our little secret!

How wonderful to be able to fling open the doors and enjoy the sunshine, even in October! 🌞

This week’s guests are looking forward to plenty of lovely countryside walks with their dogs 🐾🌿

With 6 acres of fully enclosed gardens and fields to roam, sniff and explore, there’s plenty to keep tails wagging without even needing to leave! 🐾💚 And with the beautiful Forest of Dean right on our doorstep, it truly is a dog lover’s paradise 🌳🐶

With blue skies and sunshine forecast for the weekend, we hope they have a wonderful stay, enjoying the fresh air, beautiful surroundings and all that these lovely autumn days have to offer! 🍁☀️

Why are we posting a summer pudding in October?! ❤️

Well, firstly, just look at those gorgeous colours! 😍 And secondly, it’s a delicious reminder that our catering diary for next year is already filling up fast!

If you’re planning a wedding, celebration or special event next year, now is the time to get in touch. It may feel early, but popular dates can go quickly—and we’d hate for you to miss out on yours. 😉

Give us a call or drop us an email today, and let’s get your date secured before the diary fills up.

A little planning now means one less thing to worry about later! 🥰

Better to be safe than sorry, right? ❤️❤️

One of the lovely things about having returning guests is getting to know them over time, and seeing familiar faces become friends along the way ❤️

As we get to know their likes and preferences, we can add a few personal touches to their welcome gifts to make each stay feel that little bit more special 🧁

It’s always a pleasure to welcome them back, catch up on family news and hear what they’ve been up to since their last visit 🥰

Because hospitality is about more than just a place to stay. We like to think it’s about the personal connections that we hope make people feel welcome and valued - because we never underestimate the trust people place in us to host their special occasions and much needed breaks, and we thank you for coming ❤️

📚❤️ A good book, a cosy corner, and nowhere else you need to be… pure bliss! ❤️📚

With 2026 being the National Year of Reading, we’re celebrating one of life’s simplest pleasures here at White Birch Manor… getting lost in a really good book ✨

Take a little wander around the manor and you’ll discover bookcases tucked into cosy corners, stacks of stories waiting to be explored, and perhaps your next favourite read just waiting to be found 📖

And the best bit? Our books are yours to enjoy! ❤️

Found a book you just can’t put down? If you haven’t quite reached The End by the time you leave, take it with you! Simply leave another finished read in its place for the next book lover to discover 🔄📚

Because at White Birch Manor, our library is your library. All you have to do is relax and enjoy 🥰
