September is one of our favourite times in the Forest 💚

The paths are a little quieter, the morning a little cooler and there is still plenty of daylight for a long walk before dinner.

We have a few gaps at the Press this month with particularly good opportunities for two or three nights:

14-17 September
15-19 September
21-25 September

Come for a few days in Newnham — walk in the Forest of Dean, have dinner in the village, wander down to the Severn in the morning, and come back to the Press for breakfast.

All three of our rooms are dog-friendly, and breakfast is always included.

We have always liked displaying this en masse.

Our collection of pressed seaweed studies has gradually taken over one wall of breakfast room.

After a short summer pause, our Supper Club returns on Saturday 5 September at 7pm.

We’ll be serving a new seasonal menu inspired by the beginning of autumn — generous, unfussy food, shared around the table at Severnside Press.

£30 per person

If you’ve been meaning to join us, September feels like a particularly good evening to do so.

Some journeys don’t need to last long to feel worthwhile.

A quiet evening in Newnham-on-Severn, an early walk through the Forest of Dean, breakfast in our Georgian townhouse, and a day exploring the Wye Valley before heading home.

Thank YOU to everyone who joined us for last night’s Supper Club.

It was a pleasure to welcome both familiar faces & first-time guests for another evening at The Press.

We’ll now take a short summer pause before returning on Sunday 5th of September with the seasonal menu celebrating the arrival of early autumn.
