There’s no single route to becoming a better surfer.
One of the things we love most about coaching is that we’re always learning too.
We spend a lot of time talking about our own surfing, sharing ideas and asking how we can help people improve. What works? What makes a difference? And how do we make that learning translate into the water?
Especially when you live away from the coast and your time in the ocean is limited, it’s worth thinking carefully about how you use it.
Sometimes the answer is more time in the water. Sometimes it’s mobility, movement, or understanding a technique in a different way. Often, it’s a combination of things.
There’s no perfect drill, exercise or shortcut that works for everyone. We all have different experiences, different starting points and different things to work on.
Our own surfing continues to raise new questions, and those questions help us develop how we coach.
We don’t have it all figured out. That’s part of what makes it interesting.
Our aim is to help you build the foundations, understand your own surfing and find what helps you progress.
And to keep learning together along the way. 🌊
