The chefs make the most of the local produce found around Gorran Haven. As well as what’s growing in the pub garden, the menu is made up of fish landed in Mevagissey, meat from the village farm and , and fresh veg from super local suppliers and .

After suffering damage during the winter storms, the history quay in Gorran Haven needs major work to keep it standing.

The Gorran Haven Harbour Trust had to raise £120,000 to repair the quay, with £40,000 provided by the trust and £80,000 needed from donations to reach this total. After a “magnificent” community effort, that target has been reached, with fundraising continuing for a few more weeks to create a reserve for future repair work.

We spoke to Geoff Fox, chair of the harbour trust, about Gorran Haven’s fishing heritage, this location and how the community have helped raise the funds needed to make the essential repairs.

The coastal walks from Gorran Haven offer unique perspectives of the south coast and lead to peaceful coves. Walkers passing through the village can take some refreshments and enjoy the spectacular views from Gorran Haven’s Coast Path Café.
