What does the dad in your life actually want for Father's Day? 🤔

Not another card. Not a BBQ tool set he'll use twice. Not a lie-in that ends at 6.45 because the dog has other ideas.

A proper break somewhere the kids are genuinely occupied, the dog is welcome, there's a heated pool nobody has to pack for and the pub is walkable.

Father's Day is June 21. Long Barn has summer dates available. Worth a look.

It starts with “shall we do a little weekend away?”

Then someone invites the grandparents.
Then the cousins.
Then the dog.
Then someone asks if there’s a pool.

Thankfully, Long Barn understood the assignment.

Sleeping up to 17, with space for big family get-togethers, group weekends, milestone birthdays and the kind of holiday where someone is always making tea.

There’s an indoor pool, games area, countryside walks and the South Devon coast within reach too.

POV: it's Monday morning, your inbox has 47 unread, and somewhere in your brain a small voice is asking where last week went. 🫠

One minute you were pouring a second coffee with nowhere to be. Next, you're three meetings deep into a spreadsheet and the only water in sight is a lukewarm glass on your desk.

Here's the thing though. The next Devon break is closer than you think. Late June, July, the long August stretch. They're all sitting there waiting. Heated pool. Play barn. Dog asleep on the sofa. No spreadsheets.

The week always goes. The trick is making sure there's another one in the diary. 🐾🌿

🐾 Dog Walk of the Month: Berry Head, Brixham 🌊

Berry Head is one of South Devon's proper gems. A Napoleonic fortress, dramatic limestone cliffs, wildflowers everywhere, and views that stretch all the way to Portland on a clear day. Bring binoculars if you've got them, May is peak season for the nesting peregrines (the UK's fastest bird, no big deal). 🦅

Stop at the Guardhouse Café at the top for a cream tea with possibly the best view in the county, then wander down into Brixham harbour for fish & chips and a mooch around the boats. 🐟🍟
