Meet Bear!

Our friends at Dogs Trust Merseyside are looking for a special forever home for a very special boy, and we’d love to help him find it!

Bear is a sweet, sensitive soul who is growing in confidence every day. He’s a big fan of quiet strolls, taking in all the smells, and enjoys a tasty treat, which is the perfect way to win his heart and help with his training.

Because Bear can be a bit of a worried guy who gets overwhelmed easily, he’s looking for a calm, peaceful environment to help him blossom.

Bear was not getting on well with other dogs in his previous home, so having a safe space all to himself where he can relax is essential for his happiness.

He will need someone at home for most of the day to help him with some basic house training, though once he settles in, his alone time can be built up slowly for a couple of hours. Bear came into the Dogs Trust centre a little underweight and with sensitive skin, so he is currently thriving on extra feeds and medicated baths. His new adopters will just need to consider the cost of his skin treatment should it ever reoccur in the future.

Bear has so much love to give to the right person who can offer him a quiet routine and a cosy spot to relax. If you think your home could be Bear’s perfect match, please head over to the Dogs Trust Merseyside website to read his full profile and apply to adopt him!

Looking for a peaceful woodland stroll away from the usual busy trails around Delamere? This secret loop takes you through quiet pine corridors, historic peat bogs, and up to a viewpoint with sweeping views across seven counties!

The 3 Step Hidden Trail Route:
1. Start at Gresty’s Waste: Skip the packed visitor centre car parks and start at the quieter Gresty’s Waste car park (A556). From here, follow the trail north toward Doolittle Moss which is a secluded, quiet wetland reserve.
2. Pine Corridors & Oakmere: Join the quieter eastern section of the Sandstone Trail, weaving under tall pine trees and past the edges of Oakmere Lake, an ancient kettle hole lake.
3. Summit Pale Heights: Head west up to Pale Heights (Old Pale). Reach the sandstone monument at the top for an incredible 360 degree view across Cheshire, Merseyside, and Wales before looping back down!

Short Loop (3 miles / around 1.5 hrs): A direct circuit taking in Old Pale and back through the pine edge.
Full Hidden Loop (6.5 miles / around 2.5 hrs): Takes in the peat bogs, Oakmere edge, and the full panoramic summit experience.

Finish your walk with a well-earned drink or meal just minutes away:
- The Fishpool Inn: An award winning, dog friendly gastropub with local real ales and fireside dining.
- Vale Royal Abbey Arms: A classic 19th century inn right on Chester Road with a fantastic b**r garden.

Double the love, meet Buster and Buddy!

Looking for a double dose of joy? Buster and his brother Buddy are an inseparable pair at Dogs Trust Merseyside, and they are searching for a forever home together. They are a bonded pair who love to play together and then snuggle up in the same bed. Buster is a total people lover who gets so excited to make new friends that he might sing you a little happy song for the first few minutes! He already knows some basic training, jumps straight into cars without hesitation, and is always ready to join his new family on exciting adventures.

Buddy is a lovely older lad, he is a curious and confident little fella who has been enjoying all the cuddles and attention on offer here at the centre. Although he is friendly with other dogs he has met at the centre, he can get a little over amorous at times so will need to be the only dog at home, along with Buster of course! Buddy knows a few basic training commands already and is happy to travel in the car so would love a new family who could take him along on trips out.

Because both brothers can be a little over-friendly when meeting other dogs, they will need to be the only pets in their new home. They would love adopters who are around for most of the day at first to give them a quick house training refresher and to build up their left alone time gradually as they settle in.

Anyone who has already fallen in love with these two and would like to adopt them should also note that Buster has a mild collapsed trachea. It currently causes him no issues and needs no medication, but it will require simple long term management. His new family just needs to keep him at a healthy weight, use a harness instead of a collar on walks, monitor for any coughing, and keep up with regular vet check ups.

As a dog friendly park, nothing makes us happier than seeing rescue pups find the loving families they deserve. If you have room in your heart and home for this double act, please reach out to the Dogs Trust Merseyside team today to learn more about adopting Buster and Buddy!

Please share with family and friends so we can find this dynamic duo their forever home.
