🏕️ We’ve teamed up with The Family Camping Club to bring you something a little bit special… the Mid May Mendip Family Rally – our very first family-only camping rally! ❤️
📅 14th–16th May 2027
📍 Oakhill Camping and Caravanning, Somerset

This weekend is all about bringing families together, making new friends and helping each other get the most out of camping.
⛺ Never camped as a family before? Don’t worry! This is the perfect opportunity to give it a go in a friendly, relaxed and supportive environment.

🏕️ A seasoned camping pro with plenty of tips and advice to share? We’d love to have you along too!
The whole ethos is about families helping families, sharing experiences, building confidence and making memories together. Who knows, you might even come away with a few new camping buddies! 🥰

Weather permitting, we’re hoping to organise some group family games, head down to the village café, enjoy a kickabout and maybe even get a game of rounders going in the adjoining recreation field! ⚽️🏏

This time last year… we had 4 pitches booked.
This year… 26!! 🤯🥰

Taking the gamble of moving away from the Camping and Caravanning Club has been beyond anything I could have wished for.
To look out across the site this evening and see so many of you enjoying those beautiful autumnal evenings, making memories, relaxing and enjoying what we’ve created here at Oakhill honestly makes me buzz! ❤️
A HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful guests who have returned to stay with us this weekend — it genuinely means the world to us.
And an even bigger thank you to everyone who has recommended us, told friends and family about us, shared our posts and spread the word. Word of mouth really is everything to a little family-run campsite like ours. 🥰
We started this journey with a little campsite, a big dream and absolutely no idea where it would take us…

Whether you've stayed with us once, returned year after year, recommended us to friends, shared your photos, or simply left us a kind review, we genuinely appreciate every single one of you.

We're a small, family-run campsite, and our aim has never been to squeeze as many people in as possible. We'd rather offer fewer pitches and give our guests what seems to be disappearing from so many campsites these days... SPACE.
Space for children to run around safely. Space for games, laughter, and family time. Space to sit outside your tent or caravan without feeling like you're camping on top of your neighbours.

Our priority has always been creating a relaxed, welcoming environment where people can truly switch off and enjoy the beautiful Mendip countryside.

We aren't a large commercial campsite. We're just a family who loves what we do and takes enormous pride in creating a place where memories are made.
Seeing your children making new friends, watching families gather around a table in the evening, and receiving your photos of magical sunsets and happy camping moments reminds us exactly why we do this.

Another REALLY busy weekend, 25 pitches left this morning How amazing is that!!! All happy and many saying they cant wait to return.
This week we are really quiet with maximum 25 guests (at the moment) until Friday when we get busy again so if your looking for a quiet Mon to Fri break this is the week to do it 😉
