At Bearslake, we’re incredibly proud to be part of the UK hospitality industry — an industry that creates jobs, supports local suppliers, brings communities together and gives people memorable experiences every single day 🍻

But the reality is that hospitality businesses across the country are under increasing pressure, and many brilliant independent pubs, restaurants and hotels are struggling to keep going.

That’s why we’re supporting the campaign, led by chef and publican Kerridge, calling for a fairer 10% VAT rate for hospitality in the UK.

Many European countries already recognise the value of hospitality and support the sector with lower VAT rates — helping protect jobs, local businesses and the future of the industry.

A quick Bearslake update 🐻

After an incredibly busy few weeks, we're giving our hardworking kitchen team a little extra support and making a small adjustment to service this Wednesday and Thursday.

Our kitchen will be closed at lunchtime on both days, but the bar will be open from 12pm as usual for drinks, coffees and a chance to enjoy the garden. Food service will resume from 5pm each evening.

As a small independent business, our team work incredibly hard to look after our guests, and occasionally we need to make decisions like this to ensure we're delivering the quality and experience we're known for.

Thank you for your understanding – we'll see you for dinner from 5pm!

After an incredibly busy Bank Holiday and half term week in the glorious sunshine ☀️🍻

We’ll be closing from 6pm this evening so our wonderful team can enjoy a few well-earned drinks and a chance to rehydrate too after working so hard in the heat! 😅

We’re open for lunch as usual today, then back open as normal tomorrow.

We’ve had a lovely flurry of new followers recently, so we thought it was about time we introduced ourselves properly 🐻

Welcome to Bearslake Inn - a 13th century thatched inn in the heart of Dartmoor.

🍽️ We serve seasonal, honest food using brilliant local produce, cooked by our head chef Tommy Browning and the team.

🛏️ Alongside the pub, we also have 6 cosy cottage-style rooms, including family rooms and dog friendly stays.

🍻 Our bar is stocked with local ales, ciders, beers, wines, gins and cocktails, whether you’re stopping by after a Dartmoor walk, a cycle along the Granite Way, or just popping in for a quiet drink.

We’re open 7 days a week, always dog friendly, and always happy to welcome muddy boots and tired walkers.

Whether you’re joining us for food, drinks or an overnight stay, we hope to see you soon.
