TECHNICAL ERROR

Hello everyone,

Sorry to inform you that due to our internet being out and no way to fix it until early/mid next week we are unable to take any form of card payments in this time.

The results are in.

Today we have raised £597.50 in total! And as many of you know we are not claiming back to food costs for today’s event or the drinks that came with the tickets you all bought. That was our contribution to make it possible.

We have counted the votes and we have a split vote.

We will be dividing the money between the Scottish air ambulance and the local school ☺️

Thank you to everyone for coming and showing the support on a 6 day notice event! We have sold a good stack of raffles for the monthly draw. Don’t forget to come and get your tickets!

It’s not over just yet! May Scotland not have given us a jaw dropping victory there is still many ways to see them through. We just need the right results elsewhere.

We will be showing all the games here at the Tav to grit the teeth in hope while gripping our pints. For those wanting to know what Scotland need, here is the list of outcomes we are looking for! As you can see with the outcomes we need there is still so much hope to see it through to the next stage of the World Cup!

THURSDAY
Group E: Both Ecuador (v Germany) and Curacao (v Ivory Coast) to fail to win.
Or Curacao to win by no more than four goals and Ecuador fail to win.

Group F: Sweden to lose to Japan by four or more goals.

Group D: Paraguay and Australia are on three points and play each other, a draw would send both through.
Scotland need Paraguay to lose by two or more goals, or Australia to be beaten by at least four goals.

FRIDAY
Group F: Senegal and Iraq to draw.
Or Iraq to beat Senegal by no more than two goals.

Group H: Uruguay to lose to Spain.

Group G: Iran to lose to Egypt.

SATURDAY
Group L: Croatia to lose to Ghana by at least three goals.

Group K: DR Congo v Uzbekistan to be a draw.
Or Uzbekistan to win by no more than three goals.

Group J: This is a carbon copy of Group D, with Austria and Algeria on three points and a draw would send both through.
Scotland need Algeria to lose by two or more goals, or Austria to be beaten by at least four goals.

🌞 Community Charity BBQ – This Sunday at The Taversoe Inn 🌞

With all the uncertainty in the air at the moment, we want to remind everyone on Rousay that we are here for all of you and for the community we are proud to be part of.

To show that commitment, and to make the most of the improving weather, we will be hosting a Charity BBQ this Sunday from 1pm until 7pm. The charcoal will be fired up, the food will be flowing, and we would love to see as many of you there as possible.

Most importantly, every penny of profit from this last-minute event will be donated to a local cause chosen by you, the community.

Our vote would be to support the local school, but we are only one vote. The decision belongs to all of you, and we look forward to hearing what causes and projects matter most to the island.

This event is also the start of something we hope will become a regular part of life here. We will be launching our monthly community raffles, raising money for local people, projects, and causes across the island. The prizes for our first raffle will be announced on Sunday when ticket sales begin.

So come along, enjoy some food, support a great cause, and make the most of what we all know is our very short summer!

Thank you to everyone who has stood by us and supported us. We will continue to keep our word, just as we have from day one:

Good afternoon everyone,

So during the closure of the pub a booking was taken allowing a ferry transfer at 11am (5hours before check in!) Monday is a very important day for us going to do our stock run and if we stay for this we will not be able to open the kitchen as we will have nothing.

Could anyone be kind enough to help us and bring our guests to the hotel, simply drop them off and they will have an envelope of instructions in the porch for them. We will provide a payment for this help also!

Due to needed work in the building being postponed out of our control we will be reducing the opening hours until we get this work complete. The reduced hours are as follows

Monday - closed
Tuesday - closed
Wednesday to Friday. 4pm - 10pm
Saturday. 12pm - 10pm
Sunday. 12 - 10pm

We are sorry to bring this notice. It is out of our control and we aim to open back to normal hours as soon as the situation is resolved.

Good morning everyone!

So due to the demand for fish and chips on a Friday we would just like to post, to guarantee that you get your “Fish Friday” please could you message either Thursday evening or before lunch time on the day that you will be wanting fish and chips either eat in or takeaway. 🐟

If you come in without preordering and we have run out or have to reserve what we have for booked tables then please don’t be surprised 🤪

We hate having to tell people “sorry we have sold out of fish for the evening” but equally we hate throwing fish out at the end of the week from over preparation. As we say it’s better to run out than throw out!

With fish and chip pre orders we are going to be able to keep everyone satisfied on these crazy Fridays and not worry about stock guessing! 🍻
