One of our favourite little extras at Headland Haven is our much-loved Beach Bench.

And just look at it now! After a busy summer, it’s absolutely filled to the brim with goodies ready for our guests to enjoy. Inside you’ll find buckets, spades, beach toys, balls, bats, nets and plenty of things to keep the kids entertained on a day at the beach. 🪣🏖️⚽️

But there’s something we love even more about The Beach Bench…
♻️ It’s all about reusing rather than buying new. So many of the things in our bench have been left behind by previous guests and given a new lease of life with another family. Instead of perfectly good beach toys ending up in the bin — or being left behind on the beach — they can be enjoyed again and again. It’s a small thing, but we think the little things matter. Less buying, less waste and more reusing. And, of course, we always encourage our guests to take everything home with them or pop it back in the Beach Bench rather than leaving anything behind on the beach. 🏖️ 💙

And there’s a bonus for parents too…
🙌 You don’t have to pack all the beach stuff! No cramming buckets, spades, balls and nets into the car. No trying to find room for one more bag. Just arrive, unpack and make your way to the beach knowing there’s already a whole stash of fun waiting for you.

It’s one of those little touches that makes Headland Haven feel like a home from home — and we love that our guests have helped create it 💙

☀️ Summer is almost fully booked! Our only remaining school holiday availability starts from 27th August, at £160 per night for up to 5 guests – perfect if you can squeeze in one last family break before the children head back to school.

🌊 If you're looking for a quieter coastal escape, we also have plenty of late summer availability throughout September, with stays from just £130 per night.

Booking direct means you get the same wonderful stay, but at a better price because there are no booking platform service fees.

What’s the one holiday moment you’d bottle up and take home with you?

For me, it’s moments like this…
Standing on the beach, watching the water stretch out endlessly in front of you, the world suddenly feels a little quieter. No rushing, no schedules — just the sound of the waves, the fresh sea air, and that feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be. That’s exactly why we moved here, so we and our son could have this life and change of pace.

When we created Headland Haven, it was these simple moments we had in mind. The kind of moments where you wake up, wander down to the coast, dip your toes in the water, or simply sit and watch the tide come and go.
Because a great getaway isn’t always about the big adventures — sometimes it’s about the memories you didn’t plan for. A peaceful morning by the sea. A spontaneous swim. A view that makes you stop and smile.

Where is the biggest outdoor waterpark in the UK? Have you been yet?

Answer - in Paignton, Devon!

Splashdown Quaywest is located in Goodrington South Beach, right in between the sea and the steam railway line.

Lots of our guests mention this as one of their best family days out as it’s so much fun for the littlies, the big kids and the even bigger kids!
