Amelia and Chris are the proud owners of The Wentworth Guesthouse, your ‘home from home by the sea’.

The Wentworth is a friendly family run guesthouse owned and run by Nigel and Lynne Wiltshire. Located close to Goodrington's sandy beaches, just 200 metres away, in the heart of The English Riviera. Our quiet park-side location is separate from the noisy, hustle and bustle of the busy holiday resort but we are within a short walking distance of all the attractions. Sitting in the lounge with the windows open, listening to the steam train chug by across the park, is a magical moment we havent yet got fed up of !!

This year we decided to be brave and entered The South Devon Tourism Awards 🫣

We started by filling in lots of forms and telling them all about our little family business…fortunately they liked us and wanted to know more 🥲

Next our website and social media were explored and the judges decided we were doing a great job so we were through to the final round 😁

A mystery guest came to stay, she was lovely, not scary at all, she fitted right in. It seems she enjoyed her stay because over the weekend we received a very positive email 🤗

We can confirm that The Wentworth was judged to be within the top five of guesthouses and b&b’s in Devon and we received a ‘commended’ recognition in The Devon Tourism Awards 🤩

We are so pleased with this achievement, especially as it covers so many areas of our business and involved a judged overnight stay 🛌

New parkrun coming soon to Cockington Country Park!

A new weekly parkrun at Cockington Country Park is set to bring the joy of walking, jogging, running and volunteering to Torquay.

Exciting plans are underway for a new Saturday morning 5km parkrun which will create a free, welcoming and accessible community event within walking distance of around 10,000 local residents.

The new course will showcase Cockington's natural surroundings, encouraging more people to be active, meet others and enjoy the outdoors, whilst also helping to support local businesses in the area.

More details will be shared over the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!
