A foodie country pub with rooms...The Queen’s Head is a village pub with a difference. Lovingly renovated, and retaining much of its 17th Century character, its interiors offer everything you want from a cosy country pub – a roaring fire in the Winter, a copper-topped bar, original stone walls and exposed-beam ceilings – and it’s as loved by locals and their dogs as it is by visitors to the area.

We have six bedrooms where you can lay your head after a day’s exploring (and eating) – they’re each individual, but all are full of character, with original art, antique furniture and the important things done well – great beds, soft linens, generous toiletries, and an excellent breakfast. Sister to Askham Hall and the George and Dragon Clifton.

The oven is lit and the weekend is almost upon us! 🔥🍕🍻

We're excited to welcome you all for delicious homemade pizzas, delightfully refreshing drinks and good times.

As always, we are serving food every day from 12.30 to 3pm and 4 to 8.30pm and the bar is open from midday to 10pm.

We're looking forward to welcoming you all this weekend as much as we are yearning for a bit of summer sunshine.

Looking for somewhere delicious to dine this May half term?

We're open every day from 12:30pm until late, perfect for casual dining, family dinners, or catching up with friends.

Pizza and refreshing drinks are our speciality, so whether you've been for a dip in the river or a walk on the fells or cycling the local trails, we'll always try to make room for you at the Queen's Head.

We stop taking food orders at 8:30pm (last orders 8:15pm), so come hungry!
