At just over 15 miles from River Valley, St Loy's Cove or Paynter’s Cove, is a picturesque secluded cove near Penzance.

🌿 The beach lies at the end of a wooded valley, which is especially stunning in spring when bluebells carpet the forest floor.
St Loy is nestled between Boscawen and Merthen Points, forming a wide bay with a boulder storm beach—meaning the shore is covered in rounded rocks and boulders rather than sand. The cliffs behind the beach are made of soft orange-brown head deposits, formed during a cold climate period similar to Greenland’s today.

🧭 St Loy is located in the civil parish of St Buryan, about two miles south of the churchtown and between Penberth and Lamorna . Access is via a woodland walk, with limited roadside parking.

🥾The South West Coast Path runs through the cove, making it a great stop on a coastal hike. The walk from Lamorna to St Loy includes coastal views, woodland, and historic sites, making it a rich experience for nature and history lovers

🐾The area is part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Boscawen Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), recognized for its geological importance .
The beach is excellent for snorkelling at high tide, though not ideal for swimming or surfing.

Dogs are allowed all year round.

At 17 miles from River Valley, Land's End Landmark is a headland and tourist attraction in west Cornwall. Lands End is a 'must' place to visit when coming to Cornwall and is stunning at any time of the year. To the east of it is the English Channel, and to the west, the Celtic Sea.

Land's End is the most westerly point of mainland England.

Land's End is often used by charities raising money, who use Land's End to John o' Groats in Scotland as starting or finishing points. The distance between the 2 is 838 miles (1,349 km) by road. Land's End to the northernmost point of England is a distance of 556 miles (895 km) by road.

The area around Land's End has been designated part of an Important Plant Area, by the organisation Plantlife, for rare species of flora.

The Longships, a group of rocky islets, are just over 1 mile (1.6 km) offshore, and together with the Seven Stones Reef and the Isles of Scilly which lies about 28 miles (45 km) southwest – are part of the mythical lost land of Lyonesse, referred to in Arthurian literature.

In 2012, Lands End was the starting point for the Olympic torch for the London Olympics, for which it received worldwide publicity.
