☀️🐾 A perfect Cornish day at Porthkidney Beach 🐾☀️

Today we took Snoopy for a lovely stroll along Porthkidney Beach, near Lelant in Cornwall. Tucked away close to the local garden centre, this beautiful stretch of golden sand is one of Cornwall’s hidden gems. 🌊✨

We enjoyed a relaxing walk along the shoreline towards Carbis Bay, taking in the stunning coastal views, before heading back along the top of the dunes. From there, you can catch glimpses of the wonderfully scenic St Erth to St Ives branch railway line, with its trains winding their way along one of the most picturesque routes in the country. 🚂💙

If you’re planning a visit to Cornwall, Porthkidney Beach is definitely worth adding to your list – especially if you enjoy peaceful beaches, spectacular views, and dog-friendly adventures.

🚗✨ Busy day here at the Old Workshop today!

Not only did we welcome some lovely new guests, they arrived in this absolutely stunning vintage Ford… and honestly, how could we not stop for a photo opportunity? 😄📸

It’s also been another brilliant day for Cornwall Open Studios with a steady flow of visitors coming through the doors to explore the studios and meet the artists.

Never a dull moment outside our window here at The Old Workshop Drift — especially during the summer months! 🚜☀️

Today we had a whole convoy of tractors rumbling past the house on what looked like some sort of rally… definitely a first for us! Usually it’s runners, cyclists, or adventurers taking on Land’s End to John O’Groats (or the other way round!) that we spot passing by, so this certainly added a bit of countryside charm to the day.

One thing we do love here is that there’s always something going on in West Cornwall.

What a wonderful first day it’s been for 🩵💎🪼🐠🦋

It’s been so lovely today seeing so many of you amazing artists and makers across Cornwall opening your doors, welcoming visitors, sharing your creativity and enjoying the start of this year’s event.

After a very busy day myself, it was such a treat to finally sit down for a moment and catch up watching all your reels, photos and stories across social media. Honestly… you’ve all inspired me so much and made it so worthwhile…and we are hoping to get out and visit as many of you as we can in the time we have

I’m incredibly proud to be part of this wonderful creative community and very grateful for all the kindness, patience and support you show me while I hopefully help deal with your questions, enquiries and the behind-the-scenes chaos that comes with organising an event like this 🙏

Thank you all for making Cornwall Open Studios so special. Here’s to an amazing week ahead filled with visitors, conversations, creativity and hopefully lots of sales too! ❤️🎨🏺✨

🎨 Cornwall Open Studios starts this weekend!

If you’re exploring West Cornwall over the Bank Holiday week, do pop in and visit us here at Old Workshop Drift, just off the A30 and only around 10–15 minutes from Penzance.

We’re delighted to be showcasing the artwork of Jeremy Sanders alongside the beautiful pottery creations of Susan Allenson.

Come and wander through the studio, chat with the artists, and maybe even take home a special piece of original art or handcrafted pottery to remind you of your Cornwall visit.

Look out for the orange posters with the turquoise “C” around Cornwall guiding you to studios countywide!

A little coastal wander along Long Rock Beach today 🌊

Fresh sea air, wide open sands, and those ever-changing Cornish skies… with beautiful views stretching across to St Michael’s Mount sitting proudly out on the bay. A perfect spot for a relaxed walk, a bit of beachcombing, or simply standing still and taking it all in.

Sometimes it’s the simplest days that feel the best.

A little trot up to Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens today 🌿

Such a fantastic place to wander—beautiful subtropical gardens, striking sculptures, and those views across Mount’s Bay never disappoint.

We also stopped off at their café… and it’s definitely worth it. Great spot for breakfast or lunch with some really lovely food ☕🥐

If you’re down this way in West Cornwall, it’s absolutely worth adding to your list.

A lovely walk down at Praa Sands today — and it finally feels like spring has arrived here in West Cornwall ☀️

If you’re visiting the area, this is one for the sun worshippers. A stunning stretch of golden sand, gently rolling waves, and a real sense of space to just switch off and enjoy the day.

With lifeguards on duty in season and plenty of parking nearby, it’s an easy, stress-free spot to settle in for a full beach day.

Honestly… one of those places that reminds you why Cornwall does it best 🌊

Quick run over to Porthleven today and the place is already buzzing with preparations for the food festival this weekend 👀🍴

It’s all happening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — and it’s shaping up to be a brilliant one. Stalls going up, kitchens getting ready, and that proper coastal festival atmosphere starting to build.

If you’re down in Cornwall this weekend, it’s absolutely worth a visit. Great food, great views, and a perfect excuse for a day by the sea 🌊
