Who says getaways have to wait for the weekend?

Sometimes a couple of nights away midweek is exactly what you need…

A slow morning, coffee in Hay, a wander around the bookshops, a long lunch… then back to your accommodation to switch off for the evening.

Fewer crowds, a slower pace and no waiting until Friday to escape.

If you’ve got the flexibility, why not make the most of it?

We’ve got plenty of lovely places offering midweek and short breaks across Hay-on-Wye, the Wye Valley and Mid Wales.

Tuesday might just be the new Friday…

Had such a lovely day at Hay’s Saturday Market yesterday…

The sun came out, the town was busy and there was such a nice atmosphere - plenty of stalls to browse, good food and some great singing from the Talgarth Male Voice Choir.

If you haven’t made it to one of the Saturday Markets this year, there’s one more chance before the end of the season, Saturday 3rd October.

And it’s a particularly good weekend to plan a visit, as 🍄 is also taking place from 2nd-4th October.

Market stalls, independent shops, great food, bookshops and a whole weekend of fungi-themed events… definitely worth putting in the diary!

Just when we thought autumn was creeping in… the sunshine is reminding us it’s not quite ready to disappear yet!

September really can give us some of the loveliest days.

Cooler mornings, quieter places, a hint of autumn in the air… but still plenty of opportunities to sit and soak up a little sunshine.

And when the view looks like this at The Lake House, we’re definitely not rushing summer out of the door just yet.

Here’s hoping for a little bit more sunshine…

And if it’s making you fancy a little September escape, you know where to find us…
