📢 Important Travel Update for Anyone Visiting Pitlochry This Summer
Pitlochry is open and very much looking forward to welcoming you — but if you're heading here via the A9 from the south, there's something you need to know before you travel.
From Monday 15th June 2026, Transport Scotland will be carrying out essential repairs to the A9 northbound slip road into town. The entry slip road will be closed until Hogmanay 2026 while a permanent structural fix is made to the road banking — badly damaged by the River Tummel over two winters.
✅ Southbound slip road out of Pitlochry remains fully open.

🔄 Diversion: Simply continue past Pitlochry and use the northern slip road signed for Killiecrankie — it adds just a few minutes to your journey.
All the walks, shops, eateries, and attractions are fully open. We'd say that's still more than worth the detour. 😊

Alistair….our Boss-Man, just loves being in the lime light….(obviously kidding) he is forever giving credit to all departments for their craft and skill set, so I thought I’d blow some smoke his way. He has been busy again updating the wine lists and to his credit, has sourced some fantastic wines from lesser known (in wine terms) countries. Wine and cooking go hand in hand and I have studied as best I can over the years, there is so much to learn, so it’s always interesting, for you as customers as well, to have the option for tasting wine trends first hand. Did we expect to see wines from Greece, Lebanon and Uruguay years back, not really, but these days, growers are using weather, grape varieties and old and new techniques to give us such treasures as these that are pictured. And yes, they are just some of the stand out wines from our ‘unbiased-brilliant’ wine list.
Perhaps one day we may have vineyards rolling across our hills here, meantime let’s taste the genius of further afield. Graeme

Come with me on a Scottish cheese journey. In a previous chef life I was an Ambassador for Scottish Food and Drink, its always been a passion of mine to promote our eclectic larder of produce within and around our shores of Scotland. Cheese is a strong case in point. You may or may not of heard of Mellis Cheesemonger, a wonderful family run cheese company steeped in its own history. I am delighted that in the near future we will be showcasing the best of Scottish cheeses on your plate, with seasonal changes. Also I will provide a ‘booklet’ in the lounges for you delve even deeper!

I will of course introduce other fantastic cheese from across Europe, but to start with, its our kilted milk- bairns only! Graeme
