🏏 Another iconic cricket ground. Another exciting project taking shape!

The WestWood team has been out surveying the grandstand and terraces at the County Ground, home of Somerset County Cricket Club. 💚

With the 2027 cricket season on the horizon, we're working on developing a waterproofing specification that will deliver a robust, durable and slip-resistant finish across these important spectator areas.

And as with any project of this nature, getting the specification right starts long before installation.

From assessing the existing surfaces and understanding the demands of the environment to identifying the most suitable system and detailing, every consideration plays a part in delivering a solution designed for long-term performance.

It's always exciting to be involved in projects at venues with such sporting heritage, and we're looking forward to seeing how this one develops.

The survey is underway, the specification is taking shape and the countdown to the 2027 season is on! 🏏

🏏 From design table to The Kia Oval - this one’s ready to take shape.

After months of design development, technical discussions, site demonstrations and sample mock-ups, the refurbishment of the stands at The Kia Oval is moving towards the next exciting stage - installation. 💚

Last week, we welcomed Built UK, including Matt Doyle and Ashton McClennan, alongside Tamaris Roofing, Terry Ashton and the wider team for a dedicated demonstration and training session.

It’s all part of making sure everyone is fully prepared before work begins on site next month, as the cricket season draws to a close.

The WestWood Wecryl PMMA system has been selected to provide the robust, durable performance these stands require - bringing together the right specification, preparation and installation expertise.

Projects like this show why collaboration before work begins matters. From those first design conversations through testing and mock-ups to contractor training, every stage has helped shape the final solution.

🏙️ Birmingham, brilliant conversations and plenty of opportunities ahead!

Another fantastic Specifi event for WestWood, this time in the heart of Birmingham! 💚

It was great to connect with such a wide range of architectural practices, discussing everything from upcoming projects and specification challenges to the different approaches being taken across an ever-changing construction market.

With so much happening across the industry, events like these provide a valuable opportunity to hear directly from those designing and delivering the buildings of tomorrow.

And there was certainly no shortage of interesting conversations!

From sharing technical knowledge to exploring potential solutions for future projects, it was a productive event with plenty to take away.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, shared their insights and discussed their upcoming plans with us. 👏

🤝 Great conversations today. Exciting projects ahead!

Another productive day for WestWood, catching up with Lorenzo Polonio at the ALB offices over lunch to discuss the finer details of a couple of exciting projects set to get underway in the coming months. 💚

Getting together ahead of work starting is always time well spent. It’s an opportunity to share ideas, work through the technical details and make sure everything is moving in the right direction before the teams get to work on site.

And when you’ve got strong working relationships in place, those conversations become even more valuable.

A big thank you to Lorenzo for the warm hospitality and, as always, the continued collaboration.

👏 Three achievements. One fantastic day for the DLC team!

A brilliant day of recognition and progression for DLC, with three members of the team taking their liquid waterproofing skills to the next level! 💚

A huge congratulations to Steve Dawson, who has achieved his Black Card, alongside Brad Johnson and Joe Babb, who have both successfully progressed to Green Card status. 🎉

It’s fantastic to see installers continuing to develop their skills, build their expertise and raise standards across the liquid waterproofing industry.

And for Steve, there’s an extra reason to celebrate!

💬 Steve said:

“Although I’m happy to gain my Black Card status, I’m even more thrilled for my two lads to gain their Green Card skills status. It just shows how well the younger generation are coming to grips with liquid applied waterproofing.”

With Steve already looking ahead to seeing Brad and Joe achieve their Black Cards next year, there's certainly plenty of ambition in this team! 💪

At WestWood, we love seeing experienced installers leading by example and supporting the next generation of waterproofing professionals.

Congratulations to all three of you! A fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved recognition for your hard work and commitment.

🥂 Celebrating Gill Sadler’s Retirement! 🥂

After an incredible 9 years at Westwood, we recently came together for a special retirement dinner to celebrate our Finance Controller, Gill Sadler. Gill has been a valued member of the Westwood team, and we’d like to thank her for all her hard work, dedication and contribution over the years.

It was wonderful to mark the occasion together and give Gill the send-off she deserves.

We wish her a very happy and well-earned retirement, filled with plenty of exciting adventures and relaxing days ahead! 🎉

🏗️ Smart detailing. Seamless protection. Built to last.

Another quality installation from Ron at Lead-Craft, this time delivering a purpose-built gutter solution on a new-build project. 👏💚

Designed to receive water from the adjoining pitched roofs, the gutter directs drainage efficiently towards the sumped outlet - with the waterproofing and detailing playing a crucial role in its long-term performance.

A full WestWood specification was developed for the project, allowing the completed system to qualify for a comprehensive insurance-backed warranty and giving the client added confidence in the finished installation.

The full Wecryl build-up, incorporating 130mm insulation, was completed with a smooth resin finish - creating a seamless, robust solution with the quality of finish to match.

Great detailing, excellent workmanship and another fantastic result from Ron and the Leadcraft team. 👌💚

🏗️ That’s a wrap in Leicester!

Another WestWood-specified project successfully completed, this time by the team at Premier Roofing and Construction. 👏💚

Rather than stripping out the existing single-ply membrane, the roof was overlaid with the new WestWood system - providing an efficient refurbishment solution while keeping disruption to a minimum.

Crucially, the approach meant the offices below could remain operational throughout the works, without exposing the building to unnecessary risk of water ingress.

No unnecessary strip-out. Minimal disruption. Seamless waterproof protection.

A smart approach to refurbishment and another quality installation from the Premier Roofing and Construction team. Fantastic work! 👏

🐾 Meet Stan - the man of many talents!

There’s a new face at WestWood HQ, and it’s safe to say he’s already making quite the impression. 💚

Meet Stanley, the newest - and possibly fluffiest - member of the WestWood team!

Whether he’s supervising from the office, keeping morale high or simply making sure everyone stays on task, Stan is proving that no role is beyond his capabilities. 🐶

He’s settled into WestWood life remarkably quickly… although we suspect productivity may take a slight dip whenever he’s around! 😂
