There’s something rather special about welcoming people back to Glenegedale House… ❤️

The last couple of weeks have been filled with returning guests, friends of past guests and familiar faces, and honestly, it’s been an absolute joy.

There’s something magical about watching people recreate old memories, make new ones, pick up conversations where they left off and, of course, enjoy a few laughs and adventures along the way. And the camaraderie that develops between our guests — often complete strangers when they arrive — has been such a beautiful thing to witness and be part of. 🥰

Today we said goodbye to Chris & Gina from the States, who have just enjoyed their second visit to Glenegedale. Before breakfast yesterday morning, they headed outside with their cameras and captured these absolutely gorgeous views. 🌅

And then there’s this little statistic that makes our hearts incredibly happy…

67% of our guests return to us year after year. ❤️

Some have been back 10 or even 11 times, travelling from the other side of the world to come home to their little corner of Islay.

We think that says something rather wonderful.

It demonstrates that Glenegedale House isn’t just somewhere to stay — it’s somewhere people feel connected to. Somewhere memories are made, friendships are formed and, hopefully, somewhere that feels a little bit like coming home. 🏡🥃

So, to every guest who has returned, recommended us, brought friends, sent family, or simply walked back through our door with a big smile…

We feel incredibly lucky to do what we do — and even luckier to share it with all of you.

And of course, our new guests are every bit as special too! ❤️
Because every returning guest was once a new guest… and we rather like the thought that some of the lovely people walking through our door for the first time this week might one day be the ones coming back for visit number 10! 😉

A little afternoon prep in the Glenegedale House kitchen ✨

Homemade, nutty, crunchy granola and beautifully poached citrus fruits, all ready for tomorrow’s breakfast service. 🍊🥣

There’s something rather special about making everything from scratch — especially when it means waking up to the smell of freshly baked granola and a colourful breakfast waiting for our guests. ❤️

Good things take time… and tomorrow’s breakfast is looking very good indeed! 🥰

Today’s little labour of love at Glenegedale House — homemade Oatties oatcakes, made with Laphroaig grist from the barley floor and finished with Anna’s Orsay Sea Salt ltd Salt, gathered from the coast around Portnahaven. 🧂✨

A true taste of Islay in every crunchy, salty bite.

And tonight they’ll be taking pride of place alongside the most fabulous seafood platters, piled high with the very best from our beautiful island waters. 🦪🦐🦀

Local, homemade, a little bit of whisky magic… and very, very Islay. 🥃🌊🤍

🥃✨ LAGAVULIN WHISKY SUPPER CLUB AT GLENEGEDALE HOUSE ✨🥃

We’re so excited to be hosting alongside Karen from Lagavulin another very special evening of great food, exceptional whisky and wonderful company at Glenegedale House on Friday 18th September.

We’ll be serving a delicious three-course supper, with canapés and a Lagavulin-inspired cocktail to start, followed by carefully chosen Lagavulin drams paired with each course. 🍽️🥃

We’re also incredibly lucky to be joined by Karen and another member of the Lagavulin team, who will be sharing their knowledge, stories and passion for this very special whisky with us throughout the evening.

There may even be a little something extra planned by the Lagavulin team… but we’ll keep that part under wraps for now! 👀🥃✨

At the heart of a supper club is the communal table — bringing people together who might never otherwise meet, sharing stories, laughter and a love of good food and amazing drams.

So whether you’re a lifelong whisky lover, a Lagavulin fan, or simply fancy a lovely evening with good people and great food, we’d love you to join us.

☀️ A perfect Islay summer day at Killinallan Point 🌊

What a beautiful sunny walk to Killinallan Point today! 💙

There really is something magical about exploring this wild corner of Islay — golden sands, rolling dunes and an abundance of flora and fauna all around us. 🌿🌸

We were lucky enough to enjoy some seal watching 🦭, keep our eyes on the skies for eagles 🦅, and take in the incredible array of wildflowers and coastal plants along the way.

Days like today remind us just how incredibly lucky we are to call Islay home. 🌊☀️

And for our guests at Glenegedale House, Killinallan is just one of the many spectacular adventures waiting to be discovered on our beautiful island and is perfect with lunch at the Oyster Shed to finish. ❤️

Welll I have to share some personal news as I know so many of you have met our daughter Millie

She’s done it! Nailed those exams and has secured her place at UofG School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine to study veterinary medicine and surgery paving her own way while yes following the same dream as her big brother we couldn’t be more proud 🥰

This morning’s treat? Our homemade Belgian white chocolate & Madagascan vanilla bean muffins, baked fresh in-house and ready for breakfast.

It’s the little touches that make a stay at Glenegedale House special—fresh coffee, warm muffins straight from the oven, and a relaxed morning overlooking beautiful Islay.

The hardest decision isn’t whether to order the seafood platter… it’s who you’re willing to share it with! 😄 Freshly landed local seafood, homemade bread, homemade oaties, and the freshest flavours of Islay, all waiting for you at Glenegedale

Tonight we have our lovely Swiss guests who have stayed with us two years ago, our beautiful honeymoon couple and another lovely couple from the States all enjoying the freshest local seafood with a crisp cold delicious bottle of wine by Corney & Barrow and Islay Ales for a couple too
