A lovely evening at Glenegedale House 🌅

Sunshine, sea views and the gentle soundtrack of island life. From the garden this evening we watched sheep grazing, pheasants wandering by and deer appearing as the sun began to set over Islay.

Moments like these remind us why we love calling Glenegedale home and sharing it with our guests. ✨

A little Sunday spruce-up at our self-catering cottage. 🌿☀️

The lawn has had its weekly trim, the garden is looking its best, and everything is ready to welcome our guests for the week ahead. With views like these and a touch of Islay sunshine, we can’t think of a better place to relax and unwind.

We look forward to welcoming our next guests to Glenegedale House and Cottage. 💚

There’s something wonderfully simple about a Sunday morning at Glenegedale House.

The washing line is full, the birds are singing, sunshine is streaming across the garden, and a gentle Islay breeze is doing what tumble dryers can’t. ☀️

A huge thank you to our amazing suppliers who help us create memorable experiences for our guests every day.

Somehow, with nothing more than a one-line email, they always seem to know exactly what we need and when we need it!

From the exceptional charcuterie from Great Glen Charcuterie that delights our dinner guests, to the exquisite chocolates from Highland Chocolatier waiting in our rooms, the quality of their produce is second to none.

Working with suppliers who share our passion for excellence, provenance and attention to detail makes all the difference. We are incredibly grateful for their reliability, craftsmanship and support.

It’s partnerships like these that help us showcase the very best of Scotland and create those little touches that our guests remember long after they’ve left Islay.

A lovely way to showcase another side of Glenegedale House:

A little something different from our usual posts today…

While many know us for our luxury accommodation and warm hospitality, we also love creating beautiful food experiences.

Today we had the pleasure of preparing a buffet lunch for a local Islay distillery, featuring a colourful selection of homemade dishes using quality local ingredients wherever possible.

From smoked salmon and seasonal salads to roasted vegetables, quiches and sharing platters, it was all about fresh flavours, generous hospitality and bringing people together around good food.

Whether it’s a private gathering, corporate event, distillery lunch or special celebration, we’re always delighted to create bespoke catering to suit the occasion.

A huge thank you to our local distillery friends for choosing Glenegedale House.

Peat & Diesel may have left the island, but there’s still a hoolie going on at Glenegedale! 🌬️👕

If you were planning on getting your washing dry on the line today, you might find it somewhere over Jura by teatime! The sheets are dancing, the towels are airborne, and the pegs are earning their keep.

Just another day on Islay, where the scenery is stunning and the weather likes to keep us on our toes. As the locals say, it’s “blowing a hoolie” – a classic Scottish expression for a very strong wind.

Stay cosy, hold onto your hats, and if you see a rogue pillowcase heading down the drive, it probably belongs to us! 😄

What a truly special evening at Glenegedale House last night ✨

There’s something magical about hearing the room filled with chatter and laughter as strangers become friends over good food, fine wines, stunning Islay malts and a shared love for this beautiful island.

From locally sourced produce to hand-foraged flavours, every dish told a story of Islay, and seeing everyone come together to enjoy it made all the hard work worthwhile.

A huge thank you to all our wonderful guests for supporting our Supper Club and to our incredible local suppliers who help us showcase the very best of what Islay has to offer. We couldn’t do it without you.

Gathered from the hedgerows, gardens and shoreline of Islay… tonight’s supper club at Glenegedale House celebrates the incredible produce right on our doorstep.

From hand-foraged nettles for our soup to wild garlic gathered fresh for homemade butter, every little detail connects our guests to the landscape around us. There’s something very special about cooking with ingredients picked only hours before they reach the table 🌿

Simple, seasonal and full of flavour — just the way we love it.
