Lights, camera... countryside! Here's a behind-the-scenes look when we welcomed a very special film crew to Liba as part of an exciting upcoming feature on Escape to the Country with Nicki Chapman.

Part one of our series, ‘The graft behind the grapes’, where we share what really goes into growing our biodynamic vines and making our first organic wine, expected in spring 2027.

We’ll share the highs, the lows, and the less glamorous jobs along the way.

To help our young vines thrive, we manage the plants growing beneath them by strimming and mowing to reduce competition for water and nutrients while supporting long-term soil health.
In winter, we hand over to our alpacas, who graze the vegetation between the rows.

As the cut vegetation breaks down, it returns organic matter to the soil. Combined with minimal soil disturbance, this helps create the conditions for a healthy and active soil ecosystem beneath the vines.

As the vineyard matures, we’ll gradually mow less and encourage more biodiversity between the rows. For now, the focus is on helping these young vines establish strong roots and a healthy future.

Tucked at the edge of our woodland clearing, the Beech cabin sits quietly among the trees with views out across the vineyard.

A place to slow down and switch off, with a wood-fired hot tub, fire pit, and all the comforts of home (a full kitchen, ensuite bathroom, and a cloud-like bed).

Inside, large double doors frame the surrounding woodland, bringing nature into every part of the cabin. Soak, cook, sit by the fire, or simply watch the light move through the trees.

A secluded stay surrounded by nature, just a short walk from the vines.

Stay at Liba for Solstice weekend — the perfect base for visiting Stonehenge.

Park in nearby Amesbury, the home of Stonehenge, and walk into the site with the crowds and locals, or drive just 15 minutes directly from Liba to the English Heritage visitor site. Parking is free across the Solstice weekend but must be booked in advance.

After an early morning taking in the magic of Stonehenge at sunrise, head back to your cabin for slow afternoons, woodland naps, wood-fired hot tubs and firepit evenings.

A little reintroduction for those who are new here 🤍

A few years ago, we left London looking for a slower pace of life and the chance to build something of our own. What started as an idea for a vineyard and luxury stays in nature slowly became Liba.

Since sharing our story back in January, we’ve welcomed so many new faces here, and we’re now in our first spring/summer season open to guests.

It’s been incredibly special seeing people enjoy the cabins exactly as we imagined: slow mornings, evenings under the stars, and time spent surrounded by nature.

There have also been challenges along the way. This month’s frost heavily impacted the vineyard, reducing this year’s yield and setting the vines back significantly. But we’re still so excited for what’s to come, including our first wines in the future!

Frost update ❄️

After checking the vines after the frost last week, there has unfortunately been some damage. A number of the primary shoots were hit by the freezing temperatures overnight, meaning the vines will now need to push secondary shoots instead. That recovery process will slow growth down and likely reduce yields this season.

For young vineyards like ours, the bigger concern is the long-term establishment and strength of the vines, so it’s definitely a setback at an important stage.

That said, the vines will recover... just more slowly than we’d hoped. A huge thank you to everyone who messaged and checked in after the last post. We really appreciate the support.
