Well… what a night that was. 🎷✨

The Royal Jazz Club officially opened its doors last night and, safe to say, we're still somewhere around cloud nine this morning.

This night has taken vision, time and a huge amount of team dedication to bring to life — and seeing you all walk through the doors and experience it for the first time made every bit of it worthwhile.

The evening started with our one and only Abdul, suited, booted and top-hatted, welcoming everyone with that famous smile.

Inside, Blair Hammond's saxophone filled the lobby while glasses of Hambledon sparkling w**e were poured and the anticipation started to build.

Then came that familiar Queens corridor — although last night, it didn't feel quite so familiar...

Lights lowered, jazz in the air and Amanda waiting to guide everyone towards the ballroom.

And then the doors opened.

Our ballroom, but not as you've seen it before. Candlelight, beautifully dressed tables, personalised menus and a little gift waiting for every guest who joined us for the very first Royal Jazz Club.

Then came the music.

The incredible Amba Tremain Music opened the evening, followed by Natalie Williams and her soul band, bringing a little of the magic of London's legendary Ronnie Scott's right here to Southsea.

Add to that a specially created dinner from our kitchen and a front-of-house team who absolutely delivered — and we couldn't have been prouder.

For Farid Yeganeh, it was also the moment a long-held vision finally came to life. Paul Playford and the entire Queens team took that vision and ran with it — and somehow the finished night became even better than we'd imagined.

A huge thank you to our event partner Maverick Ents, and to Amba Tremain and Cole for helping bring it all together.

And it was wonderful to share our first night with so many familiar faces, but our biggest thank you is to YOU.

Every person who bought a ticket, got dressed up, walked through those doors, raised a glass, applauded, laughed and helped give The Royal Jazz Club its atmosphere.

We can create the room, the food and the music.

You made the night.

Our invitation said:
“Settle in and enjoy the evening. Let the music take care of the rest.”

And last night, it really did. ❤️

Welcome to The Royal Jazz Club.

Next event is already pending.. and we will be in touch with you all soon.
