Preston Punks (1976 - 1982) Were you a Preston punk in the late 70's - early 80's, or do you recognise someone who was? Were you a Preston punk in the late 70's - early 80's? location 3.

Did you hang out at the Palace Cafe, Cenotaph, The Warehouse, The Sun Hotel, Dog & Partridge, Gaiety Bar, Jalgos, Toms tavern, or spend a Saturday getting kicked out of as many cafes as possible....? If so then this is the page for you! If you have photos to add, anything fom 1977 to 1884 ish email them to [email protected] and I'll add them to the relevant folders. Please provide as much info as possible ie location, date, names of persons in photo

"I visited the opening of Sam’s excellent and poignant photography exhibition at the Harris Museum on Saturday. It truly captured the stylish alternative youths in Preston with the world at their feet. It’s the best exhibition I’ve seen in yonks.

I thought I would try and capture Sam away from the hustle and bustle of the main room. I asked if I could take his portrait and thankfully he kindly obliged.

Then and now! 📸

In 1980, photographer Sam Hill captured Preston's alternative kids hanging out in the town centre. Now, 46 years later, he's tracked down more than 40 of them and recreated their portraits.

The remarkable results are on show in a new exhibition at The Harris.
