Every penny you spend will help create a community pub to Save Our Sportsman. Local real ale, wine, soft drinks and a warm welcome. The Sportsman is a vibrant local pub in the heart of the South Downs, with an unrivalled view over the Amberley Wildbrooks. Perfect for nature lovers, birdwatchers, walkers and cyclists. We have five en-suite B&B rooms with views over the Wildbrooks or the South Downs. We serve a variety of locally produced real ales and pride ourselves on the quality of how we store and serve them. Thank you to everyone who chooses to spend their special occasion with us. It’s always a pleasure to bring friends and family together over good food, drinks and a catch-up.

We were also delighted to receive these lovely words after hosting a wonderful group last weekend:

"Huge thanks for a truly wonderful party yesterday. All our guests were super complimentary about everything - your welcome, the exceptional service , the wonderful food and w**e. Our guests were quite blown away by the whole occasion.

Please thank all your exceptional staff - those out front AND the kitchen staff - Jordan and his team gave us a really memorable and tasty meal. It was perfect in every way."

🚗 Got something vintage, quirky or a little out of the ordinary? 🚗

We’re looking for cars, tractors or other interesting vehicles to join a Christmas Convoy for Storrington’s late night shopping event on 3rd December!

Add a few festive decorations and meet us at The Sportsman, Amberley, by 4pm, ready to head over to the starting point in Storrington for 4.30pm.

After the parade, join us back at the pub for a warming bowl of chilli - £15 per person.

Get a few friends together and join us on Tuesday 27th October at 7:30pm for a drink, a bit of friendly competition and a chance to put all that random knowledge to good use!

We have 4 spaces remaining - teams of up to 4, with entry at £10 per team. All entry money goes to Amberley School, so you’ll be supporting a lovely local cause too.

We’re delighted to share that The Sportsman Inn has been included in CAMRA’s Good B**r Guide 2027!

A big thank you to our hardworking team, the brilliant breweries who keep our pumps supplied and everyone who pops in for a pint and supports our community pub. We’re very proud to be included again and grateful to CAMRA for the recognition.

Join us this Halloween for a bite to eat with our Ghouly Goulash (£15 per person), a drink and a few frightful faces. We’ll have a hearty chilli special alongside our usual menu, plus prizes for the best adult and children’s costumes - so dig out your spooky best!

🍻 Great b**r. Brewed locally 🍻

We’re keeping it local at The Sportsman, from October, we’ve been making the switch to b**rs brewed exclusively by local breweries.

We’ve got some brilliant b**r on our doorstep, so it makes sense to make the most of it! As a community owned pub, we love supporting local businesses - It also means fewer miles from brewery to glass and helps us keep our pint prices below average.

Many of these breweries have supported us along the way and we’re pleased to return the favour by getting their b**rs behind our bar.

We know a few familiar favourites will be missed but give something new a try! Let the team know what you usually drink and we’ll help you find one you’ll enjoy. Your next favourite might be brewed just down the road.

🍻 THANK YOU FOR A BRILLIANT BEERFEST! 🍻

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us over the weekend, you made this our busiest and most popular B**rfest yet!

It was lovely to see the community coming together and to welcome those who travelled from further afield to join us. We really appreciate everyone who made the effort to come along, enjoy a pint and be part of it.

We hope you enjoyed exploring the b**rs chosen by our resident b**r connoisseur, Mat, and perhaps found a new favourite along the way!

A big thank you also goes to our staff and volunteers. So much effort goes into putting B**rfest together, and it was fantastic to see that hard work pay off with a pub full of people having a fabulous time!

Cheers to everyone who worked to help make it happen, the breweries making the fantastic b**r, the wonderful musicians who entertained the crowds and everyone who came along to enjoy, we hope to see you again for our Spring B**rfest! 🍻
