A place that needs no introduction really.

📍 Tŷ Coch Inn, Porthdinllaen, Morfa Nefyn, North Wales

Nestled right on the beach, with the sea, views of Yr Eifl (The Rivals), and a pint in hand - it’s hard to imagine a more perfect spot to soak up the beauty of the Llyn Peninsula. Built in 1823 from Dutch red brick earning its name Tŷ Coch (“tee kohkh”) - Red House.

An absolute hot spot in the summer, our favourite time to visit is now. Warm fire, great b**r, impressive sunsets, and peaceful evenings. Perfectly paired with an apple juice and Welsh Witch spiced rum (Samhain edition) or a pint of Sgwarnog Gwyn. 🍻

Only accessible by foot to the general public the walk takes 20 minutes either by beach or Nefyn golf course. Open for weekends only come the 1st November, so see you down there soon and save us a seat next to the penguin please! 🌊🪵🔥

Firewood should have a moisture content of 20% or less. Burning wet wood wastes energy, lowers heat output, and creates dangerous creosote buildup. 🪵

Measure the moisture content of your firewood and brickwork with the Valiant Moisture Meter. The display is backlit and colour coded to show suitability of wood for burning.

💚Green (12.5%) = Great
💛Yellow (18.0%) = Okay
❤️Red (30.3%) = Bad

🔥 Monitoring your stove’s temperature and performance helps maintain efficient fuel usage, prevents dangerous creosote buildup, and avoids overheating.

What is creosote?

A tar-like, highly flammable byproduct that condenses when wood or smokeless fuel undergoes incomplete combustion. Build up in can form a hazardous and flammable residue inside chimneys.

The 6-cup aluminium moka pot from La Cafetière brings the old-school charm to your coffee ritual.

2. Insert the metal funnel basket and fill it generously with fine espresso-ground coffee without pressing or packing it down.
