Growing the wind side of Hydro 💚✌️

It’s been amazing seeing so many of you getting out on the water with us! We introduced windsurfing to Hydro nearly 3 years ago and, this year, took things a step further by adding wingsurfing and now RYA wingsurfing to the mix.

Watching the wind side of the business grow and seeing so many people give these sports a go has been a huge success. From first-time windsurfers to those discovering the excitement of winging, it’s been brilliant getting more of you hooked on wind-powered watersports! 🤙

And with Christmas not too far away, why not give something a little different this year? 🎄

Hydro gift vouchers are available for sailing, windsurfing and wing surfing – the perfect gift for anyone who loves being out on the water or fancies trying something new!

🚩 Before you launch, have you completed your pre-launch safety checks? 🛟

Before heading out on the water, it’s important to take a few minutes to make sure your boat is ready for the day.

✅ Check the weather – Wind, tides, sea conditions and visibility can all affect your trip.

✅ Check your fuel & engine – Make sure you have enough fuel, check the engine and battery, and look for any obvious issues.

✅ Check your safety equipment – Ensure everyone has a suitable lifejacket and your essential safety equipment is onboard and ready to use.

✅ Check your kill cord – Make sure it’s in good condition and attached correctly before operating the boat.

✅ Check your bungs & hull – Ensure drain plugs are fitted, the hull is in good condition and there are no signs of damage or unexpected water ingress.

✅ Check your communications & navigation – Make sure your VHF radio, GPS and other navigation equipment are working.

✅ Plan your trip – Know where you’re going, check the conditions along your route and let someone know your plans and expected return time.

A few simple checks before launching can make all the difference. Make safety part of every trip and enjoy your time on the water! 🌊
