My stone pile is growing! I should have all of the sizes I need for any given project 🤣 The ducks are having a rest but, given what I can see in the rockery, they seem to be doing a good job of culling slugs and snails. Magnus, our main drake, is also on pigeon patrol (he HATES pigeons!!) when he spies them eating Mike's newly laid grass seed. I am on the last stretch of the rockery, just a little more weeding and then some more planting to be done.

While the lawn was being worked on I admired some of my 'new' irises and continued weeding and planting the rockery - mostly with plants I have grown from seed. I have now completed about 75% so the end is in sight!

Mike has spent HOURS on our lawn. Digging out numerous weeds has probably taken the longest followed by scarifying. Talking to the experts at William Shearer to get the right grass seed mix. As our scarifier has gone to be fixed, we hired both the scarifier and aerator from Macgregors for the final stage. After all the prep two areas of seed have been laid and a thin layer of compost carefully added. More to be done....

First job today was sorting the blocked pipe to the pond water feature, so I took the opportunity to video from a different perspective - standing in the middle of the pond. I was careful not to stand on any tadpoles. Once that was done I added a few more pond plants before taking a walk to see how my little patch past the shed was doing. We have some different willows, a few yellow daisy bushes, a gorgeous aquilegia, a rowan, sycamore and whitebeam, all doing well.

A lot getting done today. First sort the pond - seperate post - then finish filling the big veg bed with compost, put the support hoops in, plnt the marrows, courgettes and onions, sow some carrots, then cover wirh netting. Unfortunately the clips I had turned out NOT to be suitable so good old laundry pegs have been used as a temporary measure. Then yet more weeding and some planting in the small rockery. I swear the weeds grow twice as fast as my plants!

An hours gardening after a day at work. So relaxing! Due to the afternoons rain it was ideal conditions to sow some Flax and Cornflower seeds directly into the rockery and plant some more seedlings. Unfortunately it takes twice as long as sun / rain has also encouraged weeds! I have quite a lot to clear again now. Hopefully, once I have everything planted, there won't be much room for weeds 😁
