A new chapter for Sandy Mount House as business becomes employee owned.
Sandy Mount House in Rhosneigr is delighted to announce an exciting new chapter in its journey, as the much loved hotel and restaurant officially becomes an employee owned business.
Owners Phil and Louise Goodwin have made the decision to transfer the business to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), securing its future while giving the dedicated team a greater role in the business they have helped build.
This exciting development marks an important milestone for Sandy Mount House, ensuring the hotel and restaurant remain firmly rooted in the Rhosneigr community, protecting local jobs and creating new opportunities for employees to contribute to its continued success.
Louise and Phil will remain involved in the business for the next few months to support a smooth transition, with Louise taking a seat on the Employee Ownership Trust board. They will also retain ownership of the building. General Manager Dan Pritchard will continue to oversee the day to day running of the business.
Speaking about the decision, Louise Goodwin said:
“We considered selling at times but felt that it would be wrong to see our hard work, our beautiful hotel and our valued team being taken over by a big company, with all the resultant job losses that could bring.
An Employee Ownership Trust felt like the perfect way to keep Sandy Mount House embedded in the community and, most importantly, keep jobs here for local people too.”
This new chapter reflects the commitment to the people, community and values that have made Sandy Mount House such a special part of Rhosneigr.
While ownership is changing, the heart of Sandy Mount House remains the same, the same welcoming atmosphere, the same dedicated team and the same commitment to providing exceptional hospitality.
The team looks forward to welcoming guests, both familiar and new, as Sandy Mount House begins this exciting new era.
