Looking for an easy family bike ride during your stay? 🚴🌿

There are some fantastic quiet country lanes and gentle routes around the local area that are ideal for a relaxed family cycle.

One of our favourites is a simple circular ride of around 5 miles through the surrounding countryside — perfect for younger riders or anyone wanting a slower-paced afternoon outdoors.

Expect beautiful Yorkshire scenery, peaceful roads, fresh air and plenty of places to stop for photos along the way.

It’s a great way to explore the area at your own pace and enjoy everything North Yorkshire does best.

Don’t forget the ice creams afterwards 🍦

One of our favourite nearby places to explore has to be Pateley Bridge ❤️

Tucked away in Nidderdale, this beautiful little Yorkshire town is packed with independent shops, cosy cafés, old-fashioned sweet shops and proper Yorkshire character.

It’s the kind of place where you can happily spend a few hours wandering around, stopping for coffee, browsing gift shops and enjoying the scenery.

The famous oldest sweet shop in England is always worth a visit too 🍬

For guests staying at Woodhouse, it makes a brilliant relaxed day out and is only a scenic drive away through some stunning countryside.

There’s plenty to keep families entertained here at Woodhouse

From the playground and climbing wall to the soft play area and on-site pub, the park is designed to give families space to properly relax and enjoy their time away together.

One of the things guests often comment on is how easygoing everything feels here: children can play, parents can unwind, and there’s always something nearby to do without needing to leave the park.

It’s all about simple family time, fresh air and making the most of being away from the usual routine.

And of course… the playground energy burn before bedtime always helps 😄

🍻 England vs Ghana – Tuesday 23rd June – 9pm
🍻 Panama vs England – Saturday 27th June – 10pm

Join us at The Barn, grab a drink and enjoy the atmosphere with fellow guests as England begin their World Cup campaign.

Unfortunately, Scotland's group-stage matches kick off too late for us to show, but we'll keep an eye on the knockout stages and update everyone as the tournament progresses.

Our fishing lake really surprises people

Photos never quite show the scale properly, but when guests arrive, many are surprised by just how large the lake actually is.

This isn’t a tiny ornamental pond tucked into a corner of the park, it’s a proper sizeable fishing lake with plenty of space to enjoy a peaceful day by the water.

In fact, it’s easily comparable in size to many dedicated day-ticket lakes.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or simply enjoy relaxing lakeside with a coffee and the Yorkshire countryside around you, it’s one of the features many guests end up loving most about Woodhouse.

There’s something genuinely relaxing about waking up and having this right on your doorstep.

What a week it’s been ☀️

We've been lucky enough to enjoy some fantastic sunshine over the half-term break, and it's been brilliant seeing families, friends, anglers, walkers and holidaymakers making the most of everything Woodhouse has to offer.

From relaxing by the caravan, enjoying a drink at The Barn, exploring the park, spending time by the lakes, or simply soaking up the Yorkshire countryside, there have been plenty of special moments over the last week.
