We love this time of year at The Old Deanery, when the welcome lounge starts to feel extra cosy. 🔥

We’ve definitely noticed a bit of a chill in the air lately! 🍂 Although, with all the sunshine and blue skies we’ve had, we can’t complain too much.

Whether you’re staying with us or fancy popping in for a drink, come in, get cosy and make yourself at home. ❤️

🎄 Fancy something a little different this Christmas?

Join us at The Old Deanery on Thursday 3rd December for a festive swag workshop with Holly from Salty Soul Yoga and floral artist Hannah. 🌿

Spend three cosy hours creating your own traditional festive swag, using beautiful evergreens to make a unique decoration for your front door. A lovely alternative to a traditional wreath, these elegant arrangements have a history dating back to Roman times, when they were hung on doorways to celebrate the Winter Solstice and symbolise strength and hope through the darker days.

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and festive treats will be included, so you can settle in, get creative and enjoy a cosy festive escape from the December rush. ☕️🍰

SUNDAY LUNCH AT THE OLD DEANERY

From 1st November, we’ll be serving Sunday lunch at The Old Deanery every Sunday until 20th December, and we’d love for you to join us!

Expect a small, carefully chosen menu of traditional Sunday lunch favourites, with two starters, three mains and two puddings to choose from. No fuss, just tasty, comforting food, good company and a lovely excuse to get together around the table.

Spaces are limited each Sunday, so booking ahead is strongly recommended. A £10 per person deposit is required to secure your table.

A little Sunday reminder that we’ll be back open from Wednesday.

Here’s what's coming up for the winter season:

🛏️ Overnight stays: Wednesday–Saturday nights, with breakfast included.

🥂 Drinks: Wednesday afternoon through to Sunday lunchtime.

☕️ Cream teas: Every Friday and Saturday, starting next Saturday, 24th October. A fruit scone, jam, clotted cream and a hot drink for £8. No booking needed.

🍴 Sunday lunch: 1st Nov - 20th Dec, more info coming next week but you can book now via email or phone.

🌲 Festive Swag making workshop: A litte different from a wreath, join us on the 3rd December to create a timeless decoration to hang on your door this festive season. Details coming soon, spaces will be limited.

A little break for our team.

We’re closed this week while everyone takes a well-deserved breather ahead of the festive season.

We're a small hotel, but there's a lot of work goes into keeping things running smoothly everyday. There's lots goes on behind the scenes everyday to keep things running smoothly.

This is Liza, our lovely housekeeper, who helps make sure everything is just right for our guests. She works incredibly hard, often without guests ever seeing just how much goes into making their stay special.

From getting the rooms ready for arrivals to all the little details that make a difference, Liza plays a huge part in making The Old Deanery feel like home.

So here’s a little appreciation post for Liza and all that she does. ❤️

Sometimes a cup of tea needs a little something on the side. ☕️

From Saturday 24th October, we’ll be serving cream teas every Friday and Saturday at The Old Deanery.

A fruit scone, jam, clotted cream and a hot drink for £8. No need to book, just pop in!

Whether you’re staying with us, stopping by for a drink or just fancy a cuppa and a scone in a cosy corner of our rather lovely old building, you’re very welcome.

This is the first room you’ll find when you walk through the doors of The Old Deanery. Part reception, part bar, and somewhere we hope makes you feel at home straight away.

Breakfast at The Old Deanery is a little different.

There’s no menu to choose from and no decisions to make, we bring you a little bit of everything.

Homemade crumpets and pastries, Yorkshire charcuterie, home-cured fish, granola and more, followed by our own take on a good old English breakfast.

It’s quite a spread. And honestly… it’s one of the things we hear about most when guests leave.

Breakfast is included with all overnight stays 🍴
