***Recommendation for half term Halloween activity***

Every year we go to Ford, Etal and Heatherslaw Scareycrow Trail- it's such a fun activity for children and adults alike!

There is a good choice of places to eat, or grab a hot drink, as you wander the route to hunt out the Halloween scenes (around 18-20 in total)
Today we stopped at Heatherslaw Mill cafe for a delicious lunch 😋

You can also ride the miniature railway from Heatherslaw to Etal, or walk or drive between the two 🚂

Whether you'd love to celebrate bonfire night with a fireworks, or avoid the noise at all costs for your furry friends- Copper Beech Cottages is a great place to choose this November!

Each of the organised displays below are at least 6 miles away and the fireworks generally last less than 30 minutes- there are no firework displays in Rothbury this year.

If you would like to enjoy the festivities- each of the displays listed are family friendly and a great night out 🎆🔥🎇

The Coquet Valley really comes into it's own in Autumn...it's my favourite season by far!
Think changing leaves, low sunshine across the fields, crisp mornings, warm layers and countryside walks- ending the day in a country pub with an open fire crackling away 🍂

Autumn is also the perfect time to enjoy quieter National Trust days out and explore Northumberland's magnificent castles- after all, this is the county of castles!

Rothbury is a fantastic destination for mountain/gravel/road cycling...Scrub Cycles provides a one stop shop for bike hire, repairs, services and more!

They even have their own coffee shop for a post ride chill 😎

We've had a fantastic Summer season so far, and we're so grateful for all of our lovely guests! ☀️
We're busy right through into September, but we still have a handful of September dates available.
If you love quieter getaways, peaceful beaches, countryside walks and exploring after the school holidays, now is the perfect time to book 🍂

Today we enjoyed another fantastic afternoon on !

I highly recommend this one hour trip around Coquet Island- it's great for spotting wildlife with seals bobbing in and out of the water and seabirds flying close by.

This boat trip limits it's passenger total to 12-14 so there's plenty of space on the boat, with seating for all. The seating is under cover so it's no problem if there's a shower!

The kids particularly enjoyed having a close look at the lobsters and crabs from the pot 🦞🦀
