The Rugby Hotel At the beginning of the 19th Century the Three HorseShoes was one of the ten Inn's in Rugby and one of the few to open all year round.

HISTORY OF OUR HOTEL

The Three HorseShoes Hotel, Rugby acquired the status of the Inn during 1728, although the tradition of selling ale from the premises would have started long before this date...

Even allowing for an original construction date somewhat earlier than 1728, the general architectural character would suggest that the building was begun during the late Renaissance Period and could specifically be described as Georgian (1702-1830). The 'Shoes' became the rendezvous for the excise officers who came to collect taxes...

In 1850, Mr and Mrs Williams, the 'Shoes' most famous owners, bought the business from Mr Thomas Chater. The Rugby Almanac of 1850 carried a full-page advertisement for 'The Horse Shoes Commercial and Family Hotel and Posting House'. After the death of her husband, Mrs Williams continued to run the hotel. It was in her cosy smoke room that on certain nights each week, Rugby's leading men would meet to discuss the town's affairs and smoke their church warden clay pipes. This gathering became known as 'The Horse Shoes Parliament' - the height of the Inn's influence on Rugby affairs. The Rugby Hotel now occupies this historic building and will continue to do so for many more hundreds of years! So whether it’s for pleasure or the services of a professional and experienced business environment you’re looking for, here at the unrivalled Rugby Hotel you will receive Rugby’s hospitality at its very best.

We’re expanding — and we need a Housekeeping Supervisor to grow with us!

The Rugby Hotel is looking for a confident, hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to help lead our housekeeping operation as the hotel moves into its next stage.

This is a key role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, organising a team and setting high standards. You’ll plan the daily workload, allocate rooms, check that bedrooms are ready for guests, support and guide colleagues, and keep linen and supplies in order. You’ll also work closely with reception to help the day run smoothly.

And this is very much a hands-on position: you’ll be cleaning guest rooms alongside the team, leading by example and stepping in where needed.

We’re looking for someone with hotel housekeeping experience, a strong eye for detail and the confidence to motivate others. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and help shape a growing team, we’d love to hear from you.

✨ We need you! Join the team at The Rugby Hotel ✨

Looking for a job where you’re part of a friendly team and the work you do really matters? We’re looking for a Housekeeper to help make every guest feel welcome.

At The Rugby Hotel, the little details make a big difference. From fresh, inviting bedrooms to sparkling shared spaces, you’ll help create the first impression guests remember—and the comfortable stay they’ll want to come back for.

We’re looking for someone reliable, positive and proud of doing a job well. Experience is welcome, but if you bring a great attitude and are ready to get stuck in, we’d love to meet you.

We need you to help make The Rugby Hotel an even better place to stay—and a great place to work.

For nearly 300 years, The Rugby Hotel has stood watch over the town. But when night falls, who — or what — is watching from inside?

A dog has been seen on the landing. It isn’t Basil Fawlty. The original owner is said to haunt the hotel, still furious that his door was moved during refurbishment. Below, hidden tunnels run beneath the cellar. And in the kitchen, staff have felt something close by — moments before a door slams, though nobody is there.

Then comes the silence.

With Halloween approaching, we can’t help wondering what else these old walls might reveal. If you heard something following you through the corridor, would you dare to look back?

💛 A shout-out to our very hardworking new neighbours! 💛

We’ve been watching the team at Shine A Light Childhood Cancer Support over the road clearing, sanding, filling, painting and moving furniture—all the things I’m not good at! 😂

They’re putting so much love and effort into creating their forever home, and it’s lovely to see it taking shape.

Basil Fawlty is particularly impressed with the new paint in the window display, stopping for a look on his many walks throughout the day. Apparently, supervising one building wasn’t enough! 🐾🐶

We’re proud to have them as our neighbours. Please have a read of their post below and get behind the wonderful work they’re doing for children and families affected by childhood cancer. 💛
