Little Polgrain Barns Little Polgrain Barn is an iconic barn on the Caerhays Estate. We host two holiday lets in the depth of the Cornish Countryside.

We are around 15 mins walk from the sea. We are also within easy reach of The Eden Project and many other attractions.

In a year of Staycations, for whatever reason, don't forget Cornwall.

We have space in Grain Store 2 over the summer and into the autumn.

Cornwall is all around from here! A good place to visit Eden Project, Even The Lizard and Lands End are possible for day trips but there is lots more nearer.

With amazing Garden Space and the sea (& coastal Path) 15 mins walk away, what's not to like?

Well, despite the Storms, the rain the snow and the Hailstones, the boys from Roseland Trees have been here for the past 2 days. The bottom lawn is now much wider. The mud is much deeper. and we have what will be a much nicer space.

Plus moved one Palm Tree, planted one Cornish Oak and one Golden Weeping Willow.

So 2025 is off to a good start.
- We are going Solar.
- We are installing an electric car charge point.

- It is raining, even Noah would have been worried!
- All but the Electrician have gone home very cold and very wet.

We've used a local firm Harvest Cornwall, so far so good.

With all the news about the Draconids meteor shower, it seemed a good time to confess that little Polgrain Barns lie on a bortle class3 and class 2 boundary. It is pretty dark here, no time to book up and come to see this meteor shower but worth considering for the future.

The Arboricultural project continues.

We're a bit stumped (😂) today by the weather.

Next stage finish clearing and build steps between the upper and lower lawns with a platform half way up.

Today I took up Lumber Jacking!
Sadly we are to loose one tree this winter and seriously pollard two more due to Ash Dieback.
IN more breaking news we are tweaking the layout of the bottom lawn by the summer house to create a secluded area. This includes taking down some dead trees. It's always a shame to see a tree go.
In the light of all this we will be planting two English oaks this winter.
Looks a mess at present, come back later and see how we get on.




As we now leave summer well and truly behind (barring and Indian Summer in October) We have a woodshed full. Grain Store...

As we now leave summer well and truly behind (barring and Indian Summer in October) We have a woodshed full.
Grain Store 1 has a wonderful Log burner.
Grain Store 2 has a cosy electric look a like burner, sadly no real wood.
But we have the fire baskets on both lawns, with wood supplied.
Bring your own Marshmallows & sausages though.
It is lovely here, even the storms are exciting, and still only 15 minutes walk from the beach.

Book for half term & beyond.
Get away for bonfire night!
Don't forget Christmas too....

Pets are always welcome to bring their well behaved people with them.
