Capturing a genius at work. 🧠✨
There’s something so timeless about working with sepia tones. I loved putting this portrait of Albert Einstein together on heavy 640gsm Khadi paper using watercolor and Uni Pin fine pens—the texture of the paper adds so much character to the vintage look. Firstly thanks to all the brave souls who popped in to see me yesterday, despite the miserable weather. Some of you possibly saw me doodling… I was playing with this sketch as a potential new addition to the Tentacles of Terror Series. What do you think, should I paint a larger version of this??
My small sketch of the futurist was popular and I thought the building could lend itself to a giant North Atlantic Octopus.

I spent time this week working on a joint project (to be revealed at a later date), using monochrome. I wondered how this technique would translate to one of my images so created this oil pastel and watercolour monoprint and I LOVE IT. I think it would be stunning on a big piece of ceramic (vase?) what do you think?
Anyway on a separate note I will be in the Vaults today so hope to see some of you there.

Harbour Night Delights, Acrylic on canvas. As the nights draw ever darker….A quiet beacon, a silver moon, and the gentle hum of the tide at night. There’s something so magical about painting late-night coastal quietness.

Futurist, Scarborough. A bit of a nostalgia sketch following some recent meetings where the old Futurist building has been mentioned. A lost Scarborough gem which had a great history. I had to use various reference photos to create this.

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank-you to all who came along to my pre-view show at Sitwell Nibbles, in scarboroughmuseums my jaw is numb from all the talking, but it was great to see everyone who came! I also wanted to say a special thank-you to the amazing .bass3 and who helped organise and curate…. You guys are brilliant! For those who didn’t manage to come along last night the pieces will be up for a little while yet so bob in for a view and a brew.

A reminder that tonight (8/10/26) we will be hosting a preview evening for my solo show in Sitwell’s Cafe, Woodend, 5:30-7:30. If you are available it would be great to see some friendly faces. On a different note I wanted to have a break from sea creatures so while playing I created this 30cm sq folk art meets pop art piece… MOOO!
