Happy Halloween!
Today we ran some spooky Halloween broom making sessions in the woodland classroom.
We had a wonderful time in the woods and loads of scary kids got really stuck into creating their very own broom!
Afterwards we gave them their very first flying lessons!
They all managed a short flight, and some flew for longer that others. We managed to capture them getting airborne.
Unfortunately one little witch chose to make a turbo broom and was last seen heading towards cable ski! 🤣

What a fantastic volunteer session today!
Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who joined us on our hedge laying session. We had the best turnout so far, with 16 volunteers!
We got loads done and everyone got a chance to cut, chop and lay a section of the hedge. We still have to add the top twisty bindings and tidy it up, we plan to do on the next session on Wednesday 11th November. Then it will really look awesome.

Last entry by car is 4pm.

The park gates will be locked promptly at 5pm, and there will be no vehicle access in or out of the park after this time.

Please make sure you allow enough time to leave the park before the gates are locked.

***NOW FULLY BOOKED***
We are running another volunteer session on Friday 30th October from 10am till 1pm, where we will be doing more HEDGE LAYING.
This is a fantastic opportunity to come and learn this beautiful ancient technique, of carefully cutting chopping and laying hedges over, to create a "living fence"
This session will involve kneeling down, sawing, axing and dragging branches.
Although it can be quite hard work, it is incredibly rewarding to see the finished hedge. We have had some amazing comments about the hedge so far!
Meet in the car park near the old cafe. We will be working just past it, on the hedge along the river bank. Wrap up warm, wear tough boots and bring gloves.
Warm drinks will be provided. Parking is free and you'll even get a well earned chip butty afterwards for lunch.
