Two bits of news:

First, and excitingly, we've started our refurbishment! The guest house is being developed into an eight bedroomed facility with a completely new kitchen and extended dining area to become a cafe/restaurant open to non residents as well. This does mean that there is a fair amount of site activity and as a result I'm afraid we've had to close the cafe. Apologies to all visitors who come expecting a cuppa or a bowl of soup. Toilet facilities are available at the community hall and at Hamars Ness, but for the moment no longer with us.

Second with all this activity we're cutting down to Winter opening hours so we are now open Tuesday to Saturday (closed Sunday and Monday) 11 a.m - 2 p.m.

We'll keep you posted with how the refurbishment is getting on.

As Autumn is now firmly here we’re cutting down the hours for the shop and cafe. We’ll be closed on Sunday starting tomorrow and from next week the hours will be 11 am - 3pm Monday to Saturday

The shop, cafe and post office will be closing early at 2.15 today so that I can go to the Tunnel Vision meeting - apologies to visitors!

The shop, cafe and post office are closed today because of an island wide power cut, 8.30 - 16.30. Many apologies for any inconvenience.

Advance notice: the shop and cafe will only be open 11 am to 12 noon on Saturday 11th July (this Saturday). We are closing then for an island funeral. Apologies to visitors who wanted to buy or eat something.

I'm afraid we'll only be open briefly tomorrow, Sunday - 12 noon to 1pm - as we have a party of Estonians visiting who need feeding! If you need or want the shop or cafe please come early!

It certainly doesn't feel like Summer, but visitors are arriving and we are getting our second ferry back this week so the shop and cafe are moving on to Summer opening hours: Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and Sunday 12 noon to 3 p.m. - let's hope real Summer comes soon!
