CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
Fancy spending your Christmas break in beautiful Sidmouth?

We currently have a special offer on a four-day package available, checking in from midday on Wednesday 23rd December and departing by 10am Saturday 27th December, for £695.00.

You will arrive to a chilled bottle of fizz and homemade festive treats and enjoy a relaxed few days in the comfort of our little haven by the sea. Sidmouth has great options for the food shop, including Waitrose, Co-op and Lidl, along with a fabulous selection of independent shops – butcher, baker (not sure about the candle stick maker) but you can rest assured you will not go hungry!

We are also blessed with an independent greengrocer whose produce is first rate, and a wide selection of cafes, bars and eating places to stop by when you need to take the weight off your feet!

If you have not been to Sidmouth before, you are in for a treat – the town retains a quaint unspoilt feeling, akin to a step back in time to yesteryear, yet still offers everything that modern day living requires, and at Christmas time the town comes alive with exquisite illuminations and street entertainment in the market square. The Churches pull out all the stops with religious services and wonderful festive concerts creating a truly convivial atmosphere, and of course the tempting local hostelries are on hand for a ‘livener’ or a ‘crafty snifter!’

Whilst Red Rose Cottage is less than a minute’s walk to the high street, it is set amongst a truly serene and quiet backwater – aside from the seagulls, the loudest noises you are likely to hear is that of our friendly neighbours, chatting and passing the time of day as they go about their daily business!

The cottage accommodates five guests and has the advantage of a parking space for a medium sized car. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to create a scrumptious Christmas lunch – and if you need something that is not provided, we are just up the road to help, or to join you for a small sherry…..

It is obvious Richard (the host) really wants those who stay at this cottage to have the perfect time. He has made such an effort to provide every comfort above and beyond the standard. Everything you could want is available and the welcome gifts including home baked cake were a lovely touch.

The property itself is immaculately clean, spacious and with well stocked kitchen. Above all the cottage is very central with a short walk to the front. We had a wonderful 2 weeks - thanks Richard!

The only potential challenge is the parking. In itself, parking so centrally in Sidmouth is at a premium so this is great but be aware you will need to be a confident driver to reverse into the space and only with a medium sized car. I was pretty good by the end of our stay, but the first time took me a little time!

Thank you for your stunning review, Sean, it is always a pleasure to have families stay with us who look after our property so well, and to acknowledge what a lovely stay they had in a review is fantastic.

I am delighted that you managed to get your car on the driveway, I agree that good reversing skills do help – with a wry smile I usually blame the access design for all six cottages in the row on the Edwardian building planners - although to be fair, back in 1905 when Red Rose was built, there was probably not much call for motor vehicle access, and to their credit, they did create a very pretty little backwater away from the hustle and bustle of the high street.

It was lovely to meet you and your family and your adorable dog, please do come and stay with us at Red Rose Cottage again, you would be very welcome.

Heads up folks
Our high season calendar is almost fully booked for this year - apart from two weeks in July.

Saturday 11th - Friday 24th July.

The nightly rate is usually £195 and subject to a seven night minimum stay.

However as a special offer - we are now offering a four night minimum stay at £175 per night.

Please note:
This offer is not available through our booking partner - you need to (be lucky enough to) know us personally!

If ever you need persuading to take a trip to East Devon, aside from it being an area of stunning natural beauty, it also plays host to quite possibly the best tearoom & garden in the UK.

The Black Dog at Uplyme is always on our visit list - 10/10 every time from both of us - service with a smile and a cracking good cuppa.

Everything from binoculars to umbrellas!
