💙 Could you help ensure no bereaved parent has to face their grief alone?
East Lincolnshire Sands is looking for new Volunteer Befrienders to help us continue providing peer support to local families affected by pregnancy loss, baby loss and neonatal death. Sands Befrienders use their own lived experience to help create safe, welcoming spaces where bereaved parents can connect with others who understand.
Our local group is at risk of closing unless we can recruit more volunteers. We know how important local support can be after the death of a baby, and we are determined to keep that support available for families in our community.
As a Befriender, you could help by:
💙 Co-hosting support meetings with other volunteers
💙 Creating a warm and welcoming space for bereaved parents
💙 Supporting local events and awareness activities
💙 Helping ensure no family feels alone in their grief
We're keen to hear from bereaved parents who feel ready to support others on their journey. Full training, ongoing support and a welcoming volunteer community are provided.
If you've ever thought about giving back in memory of your baby, or helping other families find hope and connection after loss, we'd love to hear from you.
