A lovely bit of recognition for the Rose & Crown ❤️🍻

We were delighted to receive this letter from Joe Morris MP following his meeting with us discussing the Rose & Crown in Slaley on 4th August.

It was particularly pleasing to see him recognise not only the challenges faced by small rural businesses — including business rates and the reliability of public transport — but also the important role the pub plays in our village.

Joe described the Rose & Crown as “a wonderful community pub and a real asset to the village” — and we couldn’t be prouder of that.

A huge thank you to everyone who makes the Rose & Crown what it is: our fantastic team, everyone involved in the running and upkeep of the pub; our board; our suppliers and, most importantly, all of our wonderful customers and supporters.

A community pub only works because a community gets behind it. Every visit, meal, drink, event, recommendation and word of support makes a difference.

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support and proud to be part of the Slaley community.

Here’s to keeping the Rose & Crown at the heart of the village for many years to come. 🥂🍻

Now that the summer holidays are over, we’re heading back to our usual schedule and will be **closed on Tuesdays**.

But don’t worry — if you have a special event, party or gathering that needs catering for, we can still arrange to open especially for you! Whether you’re planning a private get-together, celebration or something a little different, just give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.

🍺 What a weekend! 🌭🍻

That’s a wrap on our Beer, Cider & Sausage Festival, and what a brilliant weekend it was!

From the first beer being poured to the last sausage being served, there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout. Great beer, cider, plenty of sausages, lots of laughs, brilliant music and, most importantly, loads of people having a great time!

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make it happen. To the marquee erectors, our amazing team who worked their socks off all weekend, the chefs keeping the sausages coming, and everyone else who helped behind the scenes — we genuinely couldn't have done it without you.

A huge thank you to Mike & Mikie Milligan for keeping us all laughing, and to Steven Fothergill, our fabulous singer, for providing the soundtrack and helping create such a great atmosphere.

We also want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our raffle in aid of Great North Air Ambulance and Woodsmoke Camp. There are still tickets available, so if you haven't got yours yet, there's still time! The winners will be drawn at our Quiz Night on Sunday 6th September.

And finally, the biggest thank you of all goes to you — our customers. Thank you for coming along, supporting us, drinking our beer and cider, eating an alarming number of sausages and generally making the festival what it was.

We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We're already thinking about the next one...

And what better way to get things started than with a Sausage BBQ! 🌭

🔥 SAUSAGE BBQ – 3.30pm–5.30pm
(Weather permitting!)

We’ll have a fantastic selection of sausages sizzling away on the BBQ, with plenty of great beers and ciders to wash them down with.

Prefer to sit down and have a proper meal? No problem! We’ll also have lots of sausage-themed specials alongside our regular menu, so there’s something for everyone.

Then, once you've had your fill of sausages, beer and cider…

🎤 BEER FESTIVAL KARAOKE PARTY – 9pm! 🎤

The beer is cold, the cider is flowing and we’ve got enough sausages to keep even the hungriest beer drinker happy! 🌭
