All that is about to get a festive makeover within a few weeks, as The Gateway Centre confirms the return of its ice rink - with a new addition for 2026 🎄
⛸️Running from November 19 it claims to be the only fully covered, real-ice seasonal rink in the Cotswolds, with organisers expecting to welcome around 40,000 visitors this winter to the South Cerney destination.
This year’s event introduces a new pop-up Christmas market alongside an expanded line-up of festive food and drink, including wood-fired pizzas, bratwurst and lakeside drinks. Visitors can also book themed ice sessions, featuring Disney princess appearances, live DJ late skates, adult-only slots, and relaxed sensory-friendly times.
Robert Goves of The Relish Group, which runs the rink, said: "There’s something special about skating on real ice, and a huge amount of preparation goes into creating the rink each year. We want that care and enthusiasm to shine through in every part of our visitors’ experience.
"We’re especially pleased to be supporting the local charity Pied Piper Appeal again this Christmas. Its work makes a real difference to sick and disabled children and their families across Gloucestershire, and we’re proud to continue supporting such an important local cause."
