It’s almost time to say goodbye as the Postman heads home for the final stop on his journey - don’t forget to post your letters at Southport Market before he leaves 💌

If you haven’t completed the trail yet, there’s still time to step into the story and discover the magical installations across Southport town centre today from 10am - 4pm.

📚❤ Southport has been bursting with creativity and imagination as Books Alive! Festival of Stories brought stories to life across the town ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at The Atkinson and Southport Library for author events, workshops, storytelling and plenty of magical moments. It’s been wonderful to see so many families celebrating the joy of books and stories together ❤

Join us this Thursday & Friday, for two days at The Atkinson & Southport Library packed with free storytelling, author events, interactive workshops, live performances and creative activities for the whole family.

In partnership with Children's Books North - Festival of Stories brings together celebrated children’s authors and illustrators for two days of interactive storytelling, creativity and family-friendly experiences, hosted by CBeebies star and author Katy Ashworth.

🔊 Explore Noisy Noise Noise at The Atkinson - a playful sound library with over 90 books that trigger weird, wonderful and occasionally rude noises. From memes to movie clips, it’s a chaotic celebration of creativity, built with kids, for kids. Created by Working Boys Club, the team behind the interactive musical bar Serving Sounds.

✂️ Get hands-on with free Make It! craft sessions, creating a lion inspired by The Lion Inside or a caterpillar on a leaf inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The Jolly Postman Book Trail Launches Today! 📮📚

Inspired by the beloved children’s book The Jolly Postman or Other People’s Letters by Janet and Allan Ahlberg, the trail invites families to follow the Postman’s journey as he delivers letters to favourite fairytale characters across Southport town centre.

Running 24 - 31 October, 10am - 4pm daily, there are nine large-scale story installations to discover:

📍 Postman Greeting | Marble Place, Tulketh Street

📍 Postbox | Southport Market, Market Street
ℹ Temporarily relocated inside Southport Market.

📍 The Wicked Witch | Wayfarers Arcade - The Junction

📍 The Giant | Wayfarers Arcade

📍 The Giant’s Postcard | Lord Street - Former Beales Shopfront

📍 Cinderella | Waterstones, Chapel Street

📍 Grandma’s Cottage | Wayfarers Arcade

📍 Goldilocks | Town Hall Gardens, Lord Street
ℹ Temporarily relocated inside Wayfarers Arcade.

📍 Postman’s Home Time | Mermaid Gardens, Lord Street

The installations have been created by talented local Make CIC artists, and can be visited in any order!
