The difference one person can make…. To the amazing man from Strand Development Limited who’s morning took a slightly unexpected turn I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!

My day certainly could have been a whole lot worse if you hadn’t have taken the time to came down to the house to tell us the cows were out, stop other cars on the busy road, and then continue to help get them off the road and all the way back into the field.

We were seriously down on “man” power this morning for such fun and games and was a fairly stressful hour could have been a whole lot worse. Apologies also for the utterly appalling language!! I owe you a pint!!

The biggest 💩 show going. We all knew it was going to be bad but when it came down to it, it was even worse. Which is saying something.
Even after everything the RPA have now sent out a questionnaire asking for views on how we found the process. WTAF….. what a waste of time and money. It’s so ludicrous it’s almost funny…. said a broken woman on a Friday night, after a very long week and a bottle w**e!

UPDATE 8:15pm

Our resourcing is now in a more stable position, and we are standing down the earlier major incident from today.

Thank you to our communities for your support and understanding during this period of high demand.

_________________________________________

🔥 Due to the number of ongoing fire incidents involving multiple appliances across the county, we have declared a major incident for Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service at 3:15pm today.
Current operational activity across Norfolk is placing significant pressure on our resources.
We are still available to attend emergencies but will prioritise life risk and property.
📱 We ask that the public only call 999 for genuine emergencies.
🚒 Response times to non-life risk incidents may be delayed as we prioritise our limited remaining available resources.

In order to help us protect Norfolk, please do not light bonfires, campfires, use disposable barbecues, discard rubbish or ci******es- all of these actions increase the risk of fires in the open as we have seen in recent weeks.

We will provide updates here when available.

Regardless where you live… a massive amount of the UK is now in drought!! Please use common sense and even if you are lucky and have rain any time soon… it doesn’t mean it’s safe to burn ANYTHING. It absolutely won’t be for sometime here in Norfolk.

🔥Here we go again, Norfolk is going to heat up again this week.

Now is not the time for a bonfire, so please don’t light one in the current conditions.

We do not have the powers to ban bonfires, but their use has led to wildfires in Norfolk and across the UK in recent weeks.

These incidents are devastating, destroying land and property and putting humans and animals at risk. They also place additional pressure on emergency responders.

Norfolk’s recycling centres are open across the county and can accept garden waste, and many district councils offer garden waste bins for safe disposal.
