Luk is one of my lovely guests, who stayed here last year. He's a very gifted photographer, with a very unique and interesting perspective. So, if you find yourselves near enough to get to this exhibition, I highly recommend it!

Six weeks of walking through silence, solitude and the rugged landscapes of Cornwall gave rise to a travel story where nature and culture, legend and Celtic-Christian spirituality come together. Sleeping in centuries-old churches and following forgotten paths, photographer and pilgrim Luk Collet immersed himself in a land where history and spirituality remain closely intertwined.
This long-distance walk evolved into a pilgrimage along the Cornish Celtic Way, an ancient yet little-known route that crosses some of the most beautiful landscapes of South West England. Centuries ago, it was travelled by pilgrims from Ireland, Wales and England on their way to Compostela.
Few people realise that England too, has an ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. The route ends at St Michaelโs Mount, the British counterpart of Mont Saint-Michel, from where pilgrims once crossed the sea to France before continuing their journey towards Spain.
If your travels bring you near to Cornwall this summer, you are warmly invited to visit the exhibition:
On Ancient Paths Towards a New Beginning. A Pilgrim Journey in Images and Stories
This multimedia photography exhibition presents a Cornwall that feels both timeless and contemporary, set against the backdrop of Covid, Brexit and the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. QR codes guide visitors from the photographic panels to an immersive audiovisual experience available in English, Dutch, German and French.
Itโs an accessible and inspiring cultural project at the crossroads of travel, nature and heritage, celtic-christian spirituality and the search for meaning.
