We've got a name for our baby llama!

After a very long wait (sorry, but the Summer has been a very busy at Intake Farm ) we've finally decided what to name this little chap.

Meet Scout - named after Tonto’s horse from the Lone Ranger and chosen by the children who attended the penultimate Simpli.life HAF session.

Thank you everyone who's came up with ideas! They were all brilliant and it was a very hard choice to make. 🦙💚

We still have a few spaces available for Summer on the Farm Tuesday, 1–5pm — and HAF-eligible children can attend FREE!

It's been wonderful seeing the children who have joined us so far getting stuck in, meeting the animals, exploring the farm, making friends and trying new things. 🐴🐑🌳

If your child would love an afternoon of animals, nature, outdoor activities, creativity and fun, we'd love to welcome them to the farm!

We've answered some of the questions we're asked most often.

👟 What should children wear?
Sturdy footwear (no Crocs or trainers), clothes you don't mind getting muddy, plus a waterproof jacket, sun hat and sun cream.

🥗 Can you cater for allergies or dietary requirements?
Yes. Please let us know when booking so we can plan ahead.

🍽️ Are meals provided?
Yes! Every session includes a home-cooked meal and a snack.

🌧️ What if it rains?
Life on the farm carries on! We simply ask children to come dressed for the weather.

👧 What ages can attend?
Children aged 5–16 years.

✅ Are staff DBS checked?
Yes, all staff are DBS checked.

🐑 When the shearer lets you down... and the heat is on! ☀️

Sometimes, things don't quite go to plan. But that's when family—and our extended farm family—really shine. 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who stepped in to help our beautiful sheep ladies get their summer haircut. Your hard work, laughter and willingness to muck in meant they could swap their winter woollies for their summer "swimsuits" just in time for the warm weather!

Sheep need to be shorn every year to help keep them cool, comfortable and healthy through the summer months, so your support has made a real difference.

From all of us at Intake Farm and especially from our much cooler ladies... thank you! 🐑🌿

One of our favourite things to witness at Summer on the Farm is seeing children discover what they're capable of.

🌿 Learning Aim 5 – Personal Growth

Throughout the programme, children will:

✨ Try new experiences.
🌱 Build independence.
💚 Grow in confidence.
🏆 Leave feeling proud of what they've achieved.

Whether it's feeding an animal for the first time, cooking a meal from fresh ingredients or learning a new outdoor skill, every experience helps children believe in themselves a little more.

🐮 Meet Frankel.

Frankel may be one of the smallest members of the farm, but he has one of the biggest fighting spirits.

Having been bottle-fed from a young age, he's grown stronger every single day—and he's now becoming wonderfully confident around people.

If you've ever met Frankel, you'll know one thing for certain...

He absolutely loves a fuss! 💚

Watching him grow reminds us that progress doesn't always happen overnight. Sometimes it's the small, steady steps that make the biggest difference.
